Paul Warne appointed as Head Coach

For the owners there is a massive, massive priority to get out of the division this season. This is everything. I have rolled my eyes as plenty of posters have said maybe it would be better to stabilize this year and go up next. As if such a thing were possible. The consequences of not getting promoted would be terrible and that seems the only priority here. Bring someone in who has a track record of promotions out of League One. It's easier to stabilize and retain players in the Championship, with much higher revenues. The thinking will be that the style of football does not matter a jot so long as we go up.

David Clowes put a lot money into saving the club but we have all known he doesn't have a bottomless pit to fund us. This seems pretty pragmatic. Also ruthless and tough on Rosenior, but if Rosenior is staying, he must be on board with it at a fairly significant level.

His style of football has got Rotherham promoted and 8th in the championship.

Do you like us going away thinking we played some nice stuff but didn't score?

We haven't got time to worry about style of football right now. We need winning football.

Will assume you didn’t read the rest ??

Do we have the players for ‘winning football’, as you put it? We’ve spent the summer signing players with a system in mind.

This has a bit of the Wassall to Pearson to McClaren to Rowett about it.

Interested to see how this is communicated.

Surely if Liam is staying on the coaching team it must be amicable? Perhaps he didn't want to be manager, happier coaching?

It worked for Steve McLaren under Jim Smith and Fergie so,why not? That no.1 spot is tough and I’ve always had a nagging doubt about Rosenior’s mental toughness for the role.Having said that,I’d be delighted if he stayed on with us in the coaching role.

True, but we don’t have any Rotherham style players. Bird for example won’t like it. Can’t help but think - Liams misplaced faith in Collins has cost him.

How is Warne going to do that "the Rotherham way" with the players we've got?
