  1. It was only guesswork , but we did take a massive gamble on the fitness of Gayle. He hasn’t played many minutes, however that goal v Reading could end up being priceless. Still think Sibley will score the goal that sends us up . I know he divides opinion but I would love him to stay .
  2. Don’t think it is B S that Cashin has been loyal. He is older than the lad that went from Norwich to Florists and is now playing for the Republic. Cashin is just as good and if he was in a Prem squad he would be a full international by now.
  3. Gayle is going to cost us about £40k per game due to injury . Will David Clowes continue to accept losing money year on year ? Our “Crown Jewels” , or Fab 4 have been dismantled (Knight , Bird, Sibley, Cashin). Apart from Cash who has shown incredible loyalty, and lost his Ireland place. Sibley looks like walking just leaving Cashin. Not much left to sell.
  4. David Clowes will have to take a calculated gamble to stay in the Championship. But the departures of Bird and Wildsmith , make me wonder . With Knight at Bristol already , can’t we compete with them ? James Collins got 3 goals in 26 games the last time he was in the Championship. A good striker will not be cheap.
  5. Overcome a “Blowy Stadium” and a dry pitch ? What are they under 8’s .
  6. I did notice that once near the half way line. Unfortunately we took it about 8 yards away from the foul. But fans were screaming around me - for us to get on with it , many times . We could also have given the ball to CTB when he was in space but took too long . Perhaps we missed Bird . In general I don’t like Wildsmith Lumping every free kick near the half way line .
  7. You have made a very important point about momentum. I was at the Cobblers game . How much time is wasted when Wildsmith strolls to the half way line to hoof the ball into the box. Good teams keep the ball moving so that defences don’t get time for a “Breather” or get organised.
  8. Agree about Sibley further forward . “Best finisher at the club”. Warne is right . He put one on a plate for Waghorn v Cobblers. Got to get Sibbo on the end of something.
  9. And Liverpool give us £5 million compensation for taking Paul Warne as their new manager .
  10. Even with selling Knight -We lost £6 + million last season . Home crowds won’t get much bigger ( apart from playing parachute teams) . They could get smaller if we struggle . We could do with this T V money sorting - so we can help the squad compete.
  11. That mascot was annoying. At half time an ambulance appeared in the corner opposite us and the dragon shot off towards it and I did not see him in the 2nd half . Couldn’t have been that little slap that Mendez gave him?
  12. I was sat in the car listening to radio Derby before attending the Bolton home game and Dominic said that “ Sonny Bradley has been our Rock all season”. Just shows how opinions can differ.
  13. It’s hard to disagree with you after losing Knight , Bird and Wildsmith . Possibly along with Sibley and Thomson in a few weeks time . Looking at the big picture - have we been so desperate to get out of Lg 1 that we have no long-term strategy?
  14. Wildsmith is coming in for criticism after the Cobblers game . His distribution the main cause . But is he under orders from the manager? I hope he doesn’t become a “Scapegoat” because he is leaving . Especially after his match winning performance V Bolton.
  15. Two things - We have had loads of Luck/ Decisions go our way at home in the last two games . 2nd there is no way we could play as badly as when Blackpool won at PP earlier this season in the Cup.
  16. There were Booos from us away fans when Adams was subbed . I don’t think any player was better than a 5 yesterday . Cashin’s marking for the goal was no where near good enough for Lg1 never mind the Championship . He also gave Wildsmith a rollicking when he gave a late corner away himself .
  17. Listened to the Northampton manager on the way back from the game . He said they had 10 players out , 2 cried off this morning. They didn’t look like a team with nothing to play for . Many fans around me questioned the Desire of our lads . Are they panicking about the step up to the Championship ? We didn’t look like a team good enough to play in that league .
  18. Cobblers 0 Rams 1 FRGS N M Lang . Setting off for the game now , would love us to get a few more .
  19. Would be great to nick top spot and have a trophy to show off on the open top bus around the City. COYR
  20. Should politicians get involved with sport? I know Sir Kier is a Massive Arsenal fan but he has told Nike to sort the England badge. When the Govt takes control of football , fans will be all over any signs of bias.
  21. Wildsmith for a mid-table Prem team ? Like Chelsea ? Or even Palace , who have two England international goalies. I’m sure he would like a bit of £40 k a week , but would have to learn how to play out from the back first. If he can do better than £10k a week , it will probably be for a Parachute team with £40 mill a year burning a hole in their pockets .
  22. Is that next season ? A New Government running football. Diane Abbott crunching the numbers for the Prems £Billions . What can possibly go wrong ?
  23. Hope you are right . Wouldn’t like to see Wildsmith go . With the greedy Prem clubs not agreeing handouts to EFL clubs - it’s hard to know what you can pay next season , whichever division we are in .
  24. After his brilliant performance on Saturday- The Sun newspaper is reporting that Wildsmith has turned down the chance to play for DCFC next season . Championship clubs are reportedly after him . Leeds ? Bristol city ? How come the likes of Bird and Wildsmith are turning down contracts with us ? Sibley next ?
  25. Last time I was there , a Cobblers fan told me that the top half of the stand to the left in the picture , was not completed due to financial problems . They do have plenty of room for expansion, one day .
