  1. If CBT isn’t ready for big games like this why did we buy him??
  2. I meant now not at HT change something now
  3. This is where we need a change of shape or something different will it happen though ?
  4. We’re not winning this if it continues like this
  5. Barks has done well recently and I’d have kept him on and what about CBT is he going to play any part ?
  6. I’d like to see Gayle stay and play with Browne next season …he will learn a lot off of Gayle
  7. Have noticed we have played a few balls more directly to Gayle than we did with Collo Gayle has given us this option like for the through ball where he was brought down , if you look you see Gayle point before arcing his run in between two centre backs and was eventually brought down Also the through ball or long ball from Ebou where he wins a penalty is no fluke because he's literally telling who ever has the ball , I'm going to make that run and it gives defenders a question to answer , do they go with him or let him go hoping he may have mistimed his run I really like Collo but I think without Gayle we don't score those 2 goals on Tuesday because he has given us something very different Also has a really good spring for balls in the air, if me I'd be looking to sign him up for next season already whatever division we are in
  8. Gayle will be one of the main reasons we go up …wouldn’t surprise me if he got 8-10 goals before end of season ….quality striker his movement is brilliant
  9. This game is very important , lose it and it puts a lot more pressure onto Saturdays game , win it and go for it keeping momentum and carry that into Saturday and then if we beat Bolton a potential cushion is created with then only 7 games to go was great to hear Barks saying that we went for it against Rovers and I think that mentality is exactly how we should be going into every game now until the seasons end .....then second or even first place is a real possibility
  10. If we beat Bolton at Home we might be in charge of our own destiny but would need Barnsley to drop points It does worry me though how Warne will approach the big games against Bolton and Pompey as I'd like to see us proper go for it not try and nick it .....Saturday is massive now and we need 3 points against a tricky opponent, every game is like a cup final now
  11. I personally will never forgive the ineptitude and lack of fight in that season , embarrassing is a mild term to describe it and hate it when we get mentioned in the media for it....lame useless gutless and probably never to be beaten
  12. Brilliant match day thread @Rampant Loads of interesting info and a bit of humour to boot ..well done great effort 👏
  13. I like him a lot already looks a class above in this division shows great touches and has surprised me with his link up play and has great movement he will definitely score goals if he gets the right service and I think he could be a massive signing for the final run in was he insinuating playing padel with his goal celebration at the corner flag ….if so I love it 😂👍🏻
  14. If the line up has confused us.....it will probably confuse PV my guess is 343 .....PV are poo so should win this ....surely!!
  15. Sometimes football is not pure black and white …some don’t seem over bothered with Warne and how we play and others are saying they won’t attend next season with Warne in charge yet we are currently second which enpowers some arguments/ views but others see it differently regardless of league position I often find myself thinking …wow this is poor and it’s mainly due to lack of control in the games we seem to want to play percentage football I remember the Graham Taylor days at Watford where they went from Div4 to Div1 where Taylor employed someone who worked it out the percentages of which ball was likely to end up in a goal and it was quite industrial route one stuff but I guess it was deemed successful as Watford went through the leagues but to me it was awful to watch managers who have been seen as succesful yet parted company with there teams include Pulis at Stoke and Big Sam at a couple of clubs …why ? Mainly because it was crap to watch and the fans complained but some didn’t mind as long as results were ok my problem is and it’s no way having a go at others who differ in there opinion but I genuinely find our matches very hard to watch a lot of the time The first 20 against Charlton I really enjoyed but those passages are few and far between we seem to want to get involved in a chaotic non controlling type of game where we must get it forward sometimes when it’s not really on we don’t seem to ever play patient controlled football and wait for the right openings …and we have some very good players who would thrive at it in this division especially L1 is poor , if all 24 teams were of a poor ish standard someone would still be top of that league and that’s where we’re at I really don’t see anyone as a good side and don’t think any of the top 6 would worry Ipswich or Plymouth from last season The big problem I see is next season with possibly QPR Reading or Sheff Weds Rotherham ( L1 specialists !! ) Wrexham Mansfield ( who I think will surprise some ) Charlton and maybe Peterborough I think the league looks more difficult if we make the play offs I can see us playing like we did under Rowett in the play offs …and that was the last time I felt like I do now….where I look forward and get nervous and excited before every game …..then during the game think …this is crap …and sometimes we’re winning when I think that … I will shout and support my team until the end of this season but I’m not enjoying it ….2nd or not! But fair play if you are enjoying it
  16. If Warne stays next season I can’t wait to see us played off of the pitch with nice football by Clough’s mighty t Mansfield Town perhaps some might realise then you don’t have to play L1 percentage football to be successful I’ll be watching it on rams tv though because If Warne is here next season I won’t be travelling on average over 300 miles every game ….44 years since my first game in 1980 of driving up and down the country but no more enough is enough
  17. Mark Warburton would be my choice his Brentford team played lovely attacking football he was big part of West Ham’s coaching staff last season and think he has a point to prove …that’s why he left them as he wants to get back into management very good coach and can work on a budget
  18. I was impressed with Thomas at the back for Charlton both at there place and ours thought he was comfortable and recovers well
  19. As mentioned before can see next season L1 being a much tougher division to get out of L1 specialists Rotherham and teams like Charlton under Jones will be up there let’s get this right no matter what your opinion of Warne is …this division is really poor this season I don’t even think Pompey are that good so this season is a big missed oppurtunity if we don’t go up ….we are no better than any of the sides in the top 6!!!!! And I think with a bit more emphasis on control in games we should be Wildsmith was very rash tonight and substitutions were poor and couldn’t understand moving Cashin to LB ….bizarre
  20. I thought Smith and Gayle were good tonight and both brought off ? Surely keep Gayle on for a bit longer as Waggy doesn’t look fit at all
  21. Don’t worry Warne will be back at Rotherham next season competing with us with his robust side near the top of L1
