JfR
The Derby Telegraph have a statement from the EFL here:https://www.derbytelegraph.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/Derby-county-transfers-hull-jagielka-5795655 Not a great deal of information in it, but it's probably a positive thing that the EFL have stated that they've made the decision "following constructive discussions between the club and the EFL." r_wilcockson
r_wilcockson
Well spotted. Why would we need an extension though and why 6 days?
Steve Buckley’s Dog
Why do we need an extension? These should have been prepared and ready to go long ago so we could get on with our season. One can only presume that we have agreed some sort of ‘deal’ with the EFL and are re-doing them on that basis but why has it taken so long? One can only be thankful that the club will no doubt be communicating the reason for this deferral, and the impact it may well have on signing any proper footballers before it is too late, in their usual timely and informative manner. RadioactiveWaste
My hunch is a face saving deal has been reached but that requires new audit sign off after changes, hence the extension and much less combative statement from the EFL. That, or, the EFL didn't want my Hull City match day thread being hijacked by accounts news. therealhantsram, RamO, Sheff Ram and 4 others 2 1 3
DCFC1388
I feel like this news is a positive thing, we've been in discussions for weeks, seems like we're close to agreeing the accounts but tomorrow is too soon. If we were struggling with p&s or werent close to agreeing the accounts I dont feel like the EFL would extend the deadline Carnero, Andicis, therealhantsram and 3 others
Ramos
It carries on frustratingly but as it’s an agreed extension between both parties, it does sound like a positive. Let’s just hope we fall the right side of the line and we can add two or three more by the end of august. r_wilcockson
Kinder
Probably constructive news, but I wish we’d just get on with it. Let’s know for sure what we’re facing - points deductions, embargoes, none of the above - and just deal with it. Ramarena
Looks like an agreement has been reached and a six day extension to get the accounts in order and resubmit. Carl Sagan
What a palaver! It's normally us saying "there'll be no further comment" while previous EFL pronouncements have been extremely unprofessional. Who knows what this means? Clutching at straws I'd like to think the tight-lipped EFL response grudgingly accepts the accounts will be within limits so long as the auditors sign them off or something like that. (yet) another week before we might be closer to signing more players. This is kicking it ever closer until after the window closes.

Surely: One can only presume they have NOT agreed any sort of deal. But that both parties want to avoid a dispute. Otherwise an extension would not be required and would not have been agreed very bad for Rooney in terms of building a squad RadioactiveWaste
