The Optimism Thread (no negativity allowed)

Rooney really showed as much ability with a half decent squad ie with Bielik as any other manager might have been expected to. He was able to get in 5 decent loans, where we've been unlucky with their fitness, probably down to their lack of matches played.

So for all the dislike of Rooney's 'fame' it is actually a positive in helping us recruit. He saw what we needed to get in in January and managed to get the players required, so I think he could easily get nearly a whole full team in (not all loans obvs).

The squad will be players that want to be here and will be wanting to play for us to try and achieve promotion.

ps Happy Birthday @Ellafella

1. We've been dire but we're still in this

2. We've had the worst luck possible with injuries but we're still in this

3. We've had massive distractions with takeovers and wage issues, but we're still in this

4. We've got no real strikers but we're still in this

5. We've got a rookie manager who's got it wrong a few times but we're still in this

6. Err....well, we're still in this.

We wont go down, in fact I can see us not needing another point and still staying up....but anyway, we will beat Birmingham easily enough on Saturday and then you can all relax and enjoy the Euros. (which England will win)

If we don't get another point this season then the only chance we have of staying up is if Sheff Weds lose both their next two games. Even one point in their next two games against Boro and Forest relegates us.

According to the sums I just done on me fingers and toes.

I was sure Boro would roll over today so that was a very unexpected bonus.

I am still far more positive than negative about us staying up. I think the lads will put in a big performance on Saturday, show a bit of bottle and professional pride. If we win and Rotherham lose their next 2 tricky away games all of a sudden heading to the Swansea game we are 7 ahead and they have 1 game in hand..
