Maybe the response from Cardiff meant he wasn’t inclined to take it further hence no more talks ? You would have thought that he has entered into an NDA with Mel and shown proof of funds. Didn't go anywhere, but the line about "If you wnat to go any further with this you'll need to sign an NDA and show us some proof of funds" sounds a lot more like Alonso's take on it than "Move along, nothing to see here" that Cardiff want to imply, seems far more Cardiff were willing to consider it but things never got beyond a phone call or two. The links to Calderon? This is all starting to feel very Sheikh Khaled to me. Loads of talks with other clubs but nothing actually came of them, possibly because they didn’t see him as viable. But Mel is so desperate to sell us that it seems he’ll accept literally any offer thrown his way, even if others wouldn’t go near them with a barge pole...
