  1. I'm impressed that there's a Boro fan that can spell deluded......bunch of in-breds.....
  2. We've been with Avro for a few yeaars - cheap but a bit crap.....not surprised they've gone
  3. It would be great is someone cleverer than me could provide a breakdown of the debt that we're supposedly in - the way Mel has tied the finances in knots to protect himself and/or make our finances look a certaain way, I wouldn't be surprised if a large chunk of both the reported debts and the money that Mel reckons he's pumped into the club are actually owed to him or one of his companies. I'm highly sceptical that he's put £200M in with no expectation of seeing a big part of that returned to him. Just how much of the debt is made up of his loans to the club?
  4. I was working in Norwich when they signed Earnshaw and stayed in the same hotel as him. Bloke drove a Humvee and consistently parked either across a couple of disabled spaces or on the double yellow lines directly outside receptiion (despite there being a huge car park with loads of empty spaces). Seeing him strutting into the hotel, he came across as an arrogant and obnoxious character. I've had no reason to change my view of him in the years since then....
  5. It certainly is - and in just the same way you should take a politician's answers witth a pinch of salt, I applied the same approach to Mel's responses....
  6. It was an edited interview so perhaps Mel had final say over what was broadcast? - there certainly seemed to be a few key question's that weren't asked (or weren't publicy answered) - I also suspect that whenever Mel said "that's a good question" he either meant that Dawes had asked one off his agreed list or else that Mel was expecting to be asked that and therefore had a pre-prepared answer ready...
  7. Unfortunately the way we're going, I'm afraid Derby Till They Die or We were Derby might be more approriate
  8. Which makes the timing of the administration annoucement all the more galling. They've been pushing the seaons ticket sales and membership deals, got many thousands of people to stump up their cash and then announce the future of the club is in doubt. If it wasn't good old 'Uncle Mel' in charge, people might see it as the cynical act of an owner that doesn't give a stuff about the ordinary fans losing out as long as he can recoup some of his millions....
  9. could be an age thing....combine that with mentioning that you'd 'watered' your beans' the other day and I think you need to get yourself checked out....
  10. I may have missed it as I was a little late switching on and had to make a cuppa halfway through, but was he asked/did he say: - why he'd chosen Friday (just before an important match) to put us into admin? - if the new accounts showed we'd breached FFP by £4M in 2017/18 (which he reckoned was a 4 point penalty), why hadn't he snapped the EFL's hand off and moved on asap? - why he left the players and manager to find out aabout admin via Sky? - what part MSD will play in admin? I saw that someone on here claimed it was a good interview - seems to me that the really big questions weren't even asked.....
  11. I think I'm going to give it a listen - however I reserve the right to not believe a single word that Mel says.....
  12. Dawes will probably spend half the interview talking about trains and asking Mel his thoughts on Pigeons....
  13. I’d go with that - I actually thought it was a bit less. South stand was packed but there were pretty big gaps in the other stands….
  14. Just seem a post on Twitter saying that The Yard won’t be open today - perhaps we can’t even afford to pay for the beer….
  15. Can't remember exactly, but there were a couple of conditions that needed to be met to get the money - which we quite clearly couldn't meet. I think it's a red herring from Mel looking to heap more blame on the EFL and away from his running of the club....
  16. I once worked with a girl that didn't have clue when people were making jokes - we created little flags we could wave at her whenever someone tried to be humorous - perhaps David should introduce something similar on this board....
  17. This is what FFP should really focus on - when owners claim to be funding the club, an awful lot are simply making loans to the club which they fully expect to get paid back. If they want to put money in, fine - but it should be a gift with no expectation of a return.... We're now at a point where the club's incoome is over £1M a month below the amount needed to service those loans and the others taken out by the owner with the club as security (and also pay the day-to-day running costs (of a club with a skeleton staff and players on relatively low wages)). The fans have been sold the image of Mel as some benevolent uncle kindly donating his cash to his beloved club, while he fought a valiant battle against the evil EFL dragon. It seems the truth is anything but - guess it was the supporters he really had on strings....
  18. I just feel numb - and this afternoon feels more like I’ll be going to a wake than a football match……
  19. 12 + 9 potentially + 3 points for every month we’re in administration and can’t pay the players….
  20. We’ll hold the low points record for both the Premier League and the Championship…..
  21. If we’re going into admin there’s not a lot of point building bridges - far more likely to blow a a few up….
  22. The problem with anything more than 6 points is that it makes us favourites for relegation and therefore makes us even less attractive to potential new recruits - which makes us bigger favourites for relegastion, etc, etc..... The EFL seem detemined to drag this out as long as they can - which fits with their 'disappointed' comments when we were given a fine rather than a points deduction - they wanted/want to relegate us to placate Gibson and Wycombe. If they can't do it under the published penalties they will do it by crippling our ability to function and dragging this out as long as they can - it's pathetic and goes completely against their stated aim of protecting clubs, but those are the people we're dealing with....
  23. Folks are far to quick to believe the media nowadays - they are all (print/tv/radio/internet) focused far more on clicks and views than they are on accurate reporting (and that applies across the board, not just football). It's really not worth spending time getting wound up over speculative bull* from media outlets - wait for the club or the EFL to publish something concrete....
