Interesting theory. Rooney must by now be aware that neither the current owner nor any of the jokers who claim to be in a position to buy the club offer anything, other than making the current situation more dire than it already is. Maybe there is something else attracting him to the DCFC, which to outsiders must be looking increasing like a basket case of a football club.

Thanks, I agree he's probably looked at Mel & BZI/Alonso & thought there's nothing especially impressive there & that he could do better, both from a brand development perspective & strategic development of the playing side. Yes, he'd need specialists to help him particularly on the commercial side but he could articulate the overall vision particularly having spent so much of his career at Man Utd (a very well run commercial operation)

I've been confused by his patience in press conferences when takeover talk has been relentlessly brought up & he made very light of the unpaid wage situation in Jan/Feb. He is adamant he's not leaving but having kept us up, I thought that would have been ideal timing to move to a more sane club with his media pals talking up the job he did here. It all doesn't make sense looking through the prism of someone merely wanting to rise up the managerial ladder asap.

Is that absolute rag trying to set a record for most articles about a single club or something?

We must be absolute box office in terms of pulling engagement numbers for them to keep doing it.

Derby are one of the top clubs for viewership in the UK [first world views] - perhaps just outside the top 10, but certainly within the top 15 clubs. It's not surprising that will try and hit a hot topic.

Leeds are probably within the top 6 FWIW, hence why you tend to see a lot about them too.

Wazza is fighting for his life. This could be his first and last job as a manager. He and his acolytes will probably figure his job as manager is most secure if he has the owner in his corner. Don’t think Alonso is a guy who gets in anyone’s corner, except in order to punch them

? No one outside of Derby fans will think anything but that he had an impossible job to do here!

Unless he had sole responsibility/control then he could be sacked. So what’s the problem? Yeah sell to a chancer instead. ?

Rooney got the manager’s job without having the requisite qualifications or coaching experience.

If he and a consortium bought the club, what would make him any less of a chancer?

Isn't this fraud, and actually quite serious?

I think its another red flag for alonso takeover.

The first red flag is the rumour that efl asked alonso to put 35 million into an English bank account to proof intention to buy and that he has the funds to buy the club.

The second red flag is that there doesn't seem to be a consortium involved in purchasing Derby, so show us the money source.

Third red flag, rumour that alonso believes a failed manager like Rooney should stay at the club next season, a lack of football experience in my opinion thinking that way.

Fourth red flag, rumoured potential attempt to attract investors in alonso attempt to buy Derby as discussed in the daily mail article.

Fifth red flag, unconfirmed promise from alonso to invest 150 million in Derby, haven't seen a penny yet.

Sixth red flag, rumoured business meant to be used to acquire Derby registered at companies House with a very low amount of money linked to it.

Seventh red flag, after the loss of the efl can Derby afford to a figure openly hiding their ability to buy Derby from the efl. Can see that not going down well with efl.

Note: some of these rumours might have substance.

Supposedly, in every rumour there is a grain of truth.

Hearing from to many sources that the Rooney backed USA group might well be a reality with some actual serious money which definitely looks a better prospect than than the no money Spaniard, we will see

Would it mean we’re stuck with Rooney regardless good or bad ?
