Well, I can't imagine politics in this country could sink any lower after tonight.

Well I do hope Lindsay Hoyle keeps his job. It's clearly very important to him. Bravo Labour. The Israel Lobby will be very pleased. And our American overlords too. Everyone's a winner. Well, everyone that matters

Its becoming more obvious how much influence Israel has over the UK.

I’ve been to Luxembourg and I’m not sure there are that many “poor” people there.😅

Luxembourg is a rich country and I think it’s fairly safe to assume that they can offer free public transport because of the countries wealth (and the fact that it’s a small country) and it’s wealth hasn’t been accumulated as a result of the free public transport.

UK is one of the richest countries in the world Tamworth, as you most probably know, lets not pretend we couldn't afford it.

    Sorry, don't have a link...

Word in da hood is that there is to be an upcoming closure of the shared footpath/cycle path (Route 6), as it exits/enters the NE corner of Alvo Park heading for PPS (and onwards to City Centre, of course)... specifically that tiny little bit that dips under the railway bridge that has had scaffolding on it for months and months!

Apparently to be closed from 21:00hrs Sat 2nd March to 17:00hrs Friday 26th April.

Not checked our fixtures, but I'd imagine this will have some effect for those parking over that way and walking (or cycling) in on matchdays?
No idea whether official/marked detours will be signed?

The non-committal to the shooting of any messengers during these difficult times would be most appreciated.

    🍻🐏

Folk walking from Alvo will dismantle the scaffolding and use it to batter away fans with.

Well, they would have done in the 70's.

I’m not disputing it as I simply don’t know but how and when has it been proven that cheap (or free) public transport is a benefit for the economy as a whole?

Many countries/cities have cheap transit systems to get folk to work quickly and efficiently. There are many examples to look up but its also common sense really when you think about it.

    One example,

My factory really struggles to recruit because you cannot get to Uttoxeter by bus or train for shift start and finish times. Working 9-5 is fine but all production line jobs are 6-2, 2-10 or 7-7 shifts and impossible without a car. A lot of applicants don't have their own transport.

Cheap and efficient transit systems, running at times to suit shift workers would benefit both employers and workers, giving the latter more options.

I went shopping the other day and told the wife to not look in the safe, Well when I was out she did, When I got back she said Alf why have you got £40k and 3 eggs in the safe.

Well I said...every time I've cheated on you with another woman I put an egg in the safe, Well she said after 40 years of marriage to you that's not to bad...but what's with the £40k, I said every time I get a dozen eggs I sell them...that's why there's £40k in the safe.

That jokes probably older than you.

    🙂

  6. Never liked Cambridge since they beat us 3-0 in 1980 (We'll be back in 81 T shirts etc).  I'm glad we trashed the place , let the cows out from the field next to the car park and generally behaved like complete bamfords.

Also loads of spies and pisspoor politicians went to Cambridge. And its in the middle of nowhere and full of nonces (probably).

    Boo.

  7. All public transport should be run for the benefit of, well, the public. Its proven that cheap (or free) public transport is a benefit for the economy as a whole. It goes against the profit driven thinking but people who travel tend to spend money on their way and when they get there.

On race days at Uttoxeter they never put an extra coach on the train service. Its bonkers. There's often fights on the platforms after a race meeting because people can't squeeze on the trains to Derby or Stoke/Crewe. If train companies had to make a profit from customers they'd put an extra coach or two on for a couple of hours before or after each meeting. They obviously get government handouts for their shareholders without having to provide a service to satisfy their customers.

  8. We should never have to pay for broadband, What a rip off.

The global corporations who make billions out of the internet could easily afford to not charge us,

We buy stuff from them. They make their money out of us using Facebook, Twitter, Google, Amazon, and all the other mega corps that control and own the internet.

Its no different then having to pay to go to a street market for the pleasure of buying summat from a stall.

  9. Its all about belief now.

Hopefully older lads who've done it before like Mendez-Laing, Bradley, Nelson, Hourihane, Fozzy and Waggy can calm the younger lads, help them concentrate to cut out individual errors. Its rare teams score worldies against us, its nearly always because we've given the ball away cheaply.

I hope those lot are telling the boys how they'll feel to be part of taking this club up and boost their confidence.

As a life long fan, all i want to see is total commitment to the cause, from both players and fans.

We need B4 to give a team talk.

41 Years ago today, makes me feel old. I miss the BBG.

Very hostile atmosphere, Vulcan St Popside was absolutely packed solid, dangerously so tbh. Norman Whiteside scored a great goal but we deserved a draw on the day.

Even Mick Brolly did well at times!

Shenanigans of the highest order took place after the game with gentlemen from Lancashire and Derbyshire exchanging pleasantries on the mile stroll to the station.

Dragged myself off my seemingly permanent death bed today to go - first time I've been able to manage it since Christmas. The walk from London Road to the ground left me utterly shattered, but even in the North East corner, I managed a couple of 'Come On Derby's.

Utterly saturated on the walk back afterwards, but I didn't give a toss. We'd won, and I 'bounced' back to my car.

Anyone know whether it kicked off in the car park afterwards? I had removed my hearing aids because of the weather, and my specs haven't got wiper blades so I was as blind as I am deaf. I saw a few people looking and a few running back, then there were a bunch of meat wagons and cop cars with their woo-woos on whizzing past the velodrome a couple of minutes later.

Nothing to talk about Eddie. Teenage stone islanders hand bags by all accounts.

Me and you would have chased them from Douglas Street to Midland Road even at our age.

One thing that was particularly great about today’s win was the contribution of Smith, Bradley and Sibley.

It’s great to see players who had been written off in some quarters play an important role in an important win.

As we’ve seen with all of the injuries, we are going to need everyone to play their part.

Thought Bradley was immense today. Won every header and made a great clearance off the line. Smith and Sibley were superb off the bench.

We're going to need them all in the run in.

Can we please have this one thread as a place where people can come in to enjoy the after glow of matches we get a good result for fans that enjoy that kind of thing between now and the end of the season , it’s not a big ask , it’s not trying to ban anyone and if your not a troll or someone just out to spoil the mood or enjoyment for others  then I’m sure you won’t want to post in here ,

today feels great to me, if you feel good about today post away and post in here till season end ,

    Roll on next Saturday

Its late and time for bed but i have had the feelgood factor all evening. Had a few drinks in Uttoxeter tonight and had chats with Stoke, Villa, Wolves and others who all believe Derby are going up. Even a lonely gump said the same but he probably thought he had to!

We're on our way, on our way......................

Not a complaint, just an observation! I appreciate the efforts of all who sing but if we're claiming 'the south stand were on it all game' then it would have been a lot more noticeable?

I feel that's where this forum really struggles tbh, everything is seen as a criticism even when it's not.

    @May Contain Nuts

Please read @Archied s opening post above.

You can find other threads not so positive but the OP has specifically asked for posters to be positive about todays win. Its not really hard to find somewhere else to moan is it?

  15. 2 minutes ago, May Contain Nuts said:

Absolutely not! I hate the idea that you're not a proper supporter unless you're comfortable letting loose your inhibitions and shouting random s*** in support of a football team.

I appreciate it when others do but it's not for me, I couldn't and I wouldn't. I'd die of embarrassment 'singing' some of the stuff the fans come out witth, I hate the sound of my voice, and I don't want to spend 3 days recovering from a sore throat after every mach!

That doesn't mean my ears don't work though, and even if there are a hardcore few in the south stand making it doesn't really come across, unfortunately, even though there's been a 12 year campaign for the white elephant of safe standing.

I always go to work on a Monday with a sore throat after supporting the Rams.

I never said your not a proper supporter if you don't sing. I do feel you don't have a right to complain about singing if you don't join in yourself though.

Anyway, up the Rams. lets cheer them om to promotion.

Atmosphere was great today, South stand were on it all game and the other stands responded. Everyone was behind the lads despite the complete durge we were watching, constantly trying to lift them and drive them on, probably because despite the lack of cohesion in performance the commitment from the players was there for all to see. Everyone felt United for the first time in a while and I think that’s why Warne probably enjoyed so much, that and the full blooded commitment of the performance. Could be powerful in the run in.

But the highlight was definitely the south standing singing to Steve Evans “have you ever seen your dick” 🤣🤣🤣🤣

I'm not sure some of us realise how important the home support can be in seasons like this. We're not going to play like Man City so we have to get behind the players from the off.

Poor control, bad pass, a slip or mistake........roar them on rather than moan. Encourage every player, all the time,

It will be the difference between staying in this god awful division and going up,

Genuinely gutted for Collins, he’s played his backside off within the limits of his talents all season, scored some important goals, and looked to be on for a 20 goal season as a minimum. I hope he recovers and feel like we should extend his contract regardless of league next season, he’ll do a job for us alongside whatever shiny new strikers we sign in the summer.

Absolutely gutted for the lad. Gave his all for us every game even when it wasn't going for him.

Today felt like a promotion to me. We are going to do it, its not pretty but with the addition of Ebou in midfield we've got that bit of bite we needed.

We matched a very physical team who are well drilled in the dark arts, we battled and kept trying to play despite several of their players constantly in the refs ear and the fat controller giving it large to the 4th official all game.

Tough game and a massive 3 points.

Fckn love Derby, Fckin love Derby..........Thought the South Stand got behind the lads today just as they needed it. That 10 minutes or so of noise kept the lads going and saw off any chance of them getting on top.

We can do this, us and the team i mean. The fans made a difference i thought, some great noise during that second half.

    COYR.
