A slight exaggeration. There were "only" 16 targets and according to some chap on the radio this morning (no idea who) they will all have been targets that have been hit before.

It's a worrying development but isn't your second comment a tad over the top as well? The Houthi rebels are launching attacks on civilian vessels that were probably going nowhere near Israel and had nothing to do with the ongoing conflict.

You can dress it up however you like Tamworth but to me it seems that we are bombing Yemen to protect commerce/trade whilst allowing the massacre of civilians next door.

    Fcked up world mate.

Yep early 80s, It was after the time when Chelsea and Leeds ripped the seats out of the Ossie End middle tier, Mike Waterson at the time when interviewed said "we have our own lunatic fringe" as the Derby fans were below the Leeds fans and climbed into the middle tier and a battle ensued...DCFC moved away fans to the bottom area 2 weeks later and Chelsea threw the seats onto their own fans, It was a game at Carlisle that they gave themselves the name.

    video below

Derby as fans were just a group of "hooligans", We all met at the market place or the Spotted Horse to walk up Saint Peters St, "Football firms names" became more prevalent in the early 80s

Exactly as i remember it Alf. Through the 70's it was just Ossie End and Popside. DLF  became a thing after Waterson used the term. The lads jumped on the Lunatic Fringe thing and came up with the Derby Lunatic Fringe.

The hairstyles back then could just as easily have given us the same name!

The 1970's are hard to explain as regards football hooliganism. Every match was dangerous, home and away, if you wore colours you were fair game. Nowadays wearing a replica shirt at an away match will pretty much guarantee you safe passage but wearing a scarf back then would invite an aggresive response.

The world has moved on apart from Stoke, Leeds and Millwall.

I'll eat Paul Warne's bobble hat if anyonevat the top goes to jail.

These leeches spend their waking hours covering their arses. They also have special 'phones, on which  WhatsApp messages mysteriously disappear.

Too true Grumpy. I know how senior management work and only individual prosecution would correct their behaviour. Corporate fines are budgeted for, send the b******* to jail so they've got something interesting to talk about at their Board meetings.

It’s all to do with telic- & para-telic meta-motivational states, modified by the consumption of copious amounts of alcohol and/or other drugs and, if you are of the Freudian persuasion as a psychotherapist, being stuck at the point of penis-envy added to a failure to process feelings of maternal warmth, possibly due to an absence of breast-feeding, wherein you are driven to sublimate internalise feelings of inadequacy by subjecting perceived rivals to violence and aggressive verbal abuse. Or summat 🤷‍♂️

I've been trying to fit that into a good old fashioned chant of "You're gonna get your f****** heads kicked in" all day.

  5. Individuals need to be prosecuted. Forget fining the Corporation, that's the easy way out. Prosecute the persons responsible for making the decisions.

The Post Office senior management and the Fujitsu guys involved at the time. Go to the very top and hammer these greedy, horrible b******* who happily ruined peoples lives for profit.

Until these utter cretins get huge fines and serious jail time there is no incentive to do the right thing.

What's peoples thoughts on this competition, is it a worthwhile venture to be in. It changed sponsors from Papa John Pizza to Bristol Street Motors and some of you might not be aware that the money dropped down. All participating teams still got £20K, but the £10k per win in the group stage was dropped down to £8k. The winners at wembley now will only get £84k instead of £100k.

So far then, Derby pulled in £59k for reaching the 3rd round, if we beat Bradford we get £29.5K for reaching the quarter-finals. Could it be a distraction from concentrating on the league, could key players get injured. We still have Bolton, Peterboro, Portsmouth and Oxford in the competition and all are in the promotion race. Should Paul Warne field a weak side against Bradford, perhaps play some youngsters to avoid burn out and injuries to key 1st teamers (after all, its only £29.5k at stake). It only becomes a good Trophy if you win it and have seen your team at wembley.

Absolutely awful competition, not worth even entering imo. Even if we got to wembley i wouldn't have bothered going to such a mickey mouse event.

Glad we deliberately lost so we can concentrate on the league.

I haven't received notice yet that I will have to pay for the streaming service, but I can't remember the last film I watched on Amazon. I have watched several series, but I won't be paying to remove ads.

Cancel all subscriptions and put the money towards a visit to the promised land to see the promotion party in the Market Place. I'll buy you a pint in Jorrocks.

  8. As a bit of a Saturday drunken day, watching the match in my local and having friends round this evening, i'd just like to remind everyone of the words to the song we'll be singing over the next few months.

"The Rams are going up, The Rams are going up,

and now you're gonna believe us, now you're gonna believe us, now you're gonna belieeeeeeve us,

    The Rams are going up"

    Repeat ad finitum.

Been there, done it, its happening, enjoy.

Good result today - sort of game we often lose - sky, bottom, new manager, after christmas. not always in control but we did it. Players stepped up when needed and when they did we looked a level above.
Just want to say not been Collins' biggest fan but in this run of ours he's been excellent - works so hard for the team and got his goals.

Agree with this. Collins has won me over with his workrate and goals. Not sure what type of player we were judging him with but we are where we are and he is doing his best.

Collins is a grafter who is giving his all and winning games for us.

  10. 3 points away from home. Tough gig against a physical team with a new manager and we did what we had to do. Some attempts at playing nice football on a horrible narrow pitch that never really came off but we dug in when needed and always looked capable of scoring whilst admittedly not very secure at the back.

Promotion seasons are built on games like this.

It defies belief. There are post office employees who should go to prison fpor some of this stuff.

And how can a judge sack himself?

Read about this scandal many years ago in Private Eye. Absolutely disgusting behaviour from the people involved. Senior managers of the software company, senior managers of the post office and senior members of the government were all happy to destroy working peoples lives rather than admit summatt was wrong.

"Hello dear, how's your day been?".

"Oh, you know, i managed to feck someones life up to protect my bonus".

    "Marvellous dear, well done".

What sort of people can do this knowing the devastation they are causing?

  12. Disappointing not to get the point. Very fine margins indeed but for me it’s maddening how we give the ball away too easily. Boro didn’t have to create chances as we often gave it to them.  Lack of concentration by one or two players but, 9 gamea unbeaten has put us right in the mix with an excellent chance of making top two.

John-Jules and Tommo are making claims for regular starts.

    We can and will improve.
