Agreed, but it's hard to overlook that the big boss is now the single most prominent exponent of misinformation and worse. Feels not so much like the horse has bolted through an open gate, as the horse now owns and runs the stable.

Criticism of Israel is causing people to be "shadow banned" on twitter. Many people are complaining of this. So much for free speech!

  2. Is Iran forcing us to bomb Yemen?

Britain bombing Yemen is no big deal, we've been doing it since 1928. Someone on twitter posted a list of British Prime Ministers who have bombed Yemen.

    Stanley Baldwin

    Ramsay MacDonald

    Clement Atlee

    Winston Churchill

    Anthony Eden

    Harold Macmillan

    Alec Douglas-Home

    Harold Wilson

    David Cameron

    Theresa May

    Boris Johnson

    Rishi Sunak

You'd think we would have beaten them by now. Its been 94 years.

I'm no fan of his by any stretch, but I don't think there was some "I hate Derby and want them gone" style thinking. He just spotted a story/angle with a club that he knows will make headlines and pushed it as hard as he could.

I think he's guilty of being a click chasing leech, not of wanting us to cease to exist.

He wanted us dead. Complete w*****.

I don't think he hates Derby, I think he's a guy that relies on engagement to push his content and he knows that stories involving Derby help to do that.

He's a leech. I doubt it's anything personal, it's just business to him.

He signed up to this forum just so he could infiltrate us and create division. He went after Mel Morris which was fair enough but he wanted to destroy Derby and put us out of business. He let his hatred of Mel want to kill our football club.

Absolute b******. Every Derby fan should treat this Bamford as an enemy of our club.

Went to tech (ilson)with Garth late 70's. Went to watch Forest/Derby in the infamous Boxing Day game 78 with the Ilson mob at Garth's invitation.

Ended up in the Trent End then chucked out after the rucks started.

We hung round Notts for the next two hours, having a few pints before heading back towards the station.

Got herded onto the Ramaway by the police (just to get us out of Nottingham as quickly as possible).

Not wanting to go all the way to Derby a plan was hatched that someone would pull the emergency cord just before Long Eaton and with luck we would stop more or less at the platform.

After much harsh debate, as to who and exactly when the cord should be pulled we had already passed through Long Eaton before the said act took place.

Fortunately the train stopped exactly on Sawley Road Level crossing and we piled out and began the longer walk back to Ilkeston.

About 8.30 by the time we got back to The Market inn.

Safe to say, being a bit of a Wuss i never went with them to another game again!!

I was at that game as an 18 year old. Absolutely mental all day.
4 of us got attacked 100 yards from the station after the match but were saved by another group of Derby

I was on a train that had the cord pulled not far from where Pride Park is now because lads reckoned the police were going to nick them when we arrived at Derby station   Loads jumped off the train and ran off

I just learned that Birmingham, the town has gone bankrupt. I first visited England and Birmingham in 2007 and I have visited there almost yearly since. I have seen the town taking a turn to the worse but it was quite a shock to learn this news.

I also found out that a lot of cities are doing really poorly for example Scarborough. Without going too much in politics so that the moderators don't have to close the thread could you folks enlighten me a little on this subject. Thanks.

Last week we have just given £2.5b to Ukraine, we are massively increasing our military base in Oman and have more billionaires than we've ever had so its not all bad.

Does he actually “campaign” against poor and disabled people? I must have missed all the controversial stuff you are describing. Fair enough if he did but I’d still much rather try to have a sensible conversation with him than Barton.

I would also criticise people that deliberately chose to go on benefits rather than getting a job (major caveat here, I wouldn’t label everyone going on benefits in such a way. I am totally confident that the vast majority have little or no choice. Did Vine  label all benefit claimants in such a way or did he just suggest that some do it? 🤷🏻‍♂️). Also what’s so controversial about saying “benefit fraud is a thing”? It clearly is as you concede.

Regarding the cost of benefit fraud, this was estimated at £6.4b for 2022/23. So, not an insignificant amount. It is less than unclaimed benefits (£19b) but that doesn’t make it right or acceptable.

Maybe its just me then but it irks me when well off people criticise those on benefits while tax dodging themselves.

I got punched on the side of the head once by an Everton fan on the Popside (back when it was mixed).

No other injuries but being put in a cage away at Norwich and witnessing a Norwich fan do a running dropkick into the back of an older female Derby supporter as we were being "escorted" back to the station, were what stopped me attending matches for about 25 years.

Tha'ts shocking Angie. I never witnessed a woman being hit, the lads i knew would never have done that.

No bravado or handbags fella, This was life for some, Have you ever walked down a street when going to a football match and been thumped by an away fan, Or maybe grabbed by the throat by our police forces for walking in a group of fans, Kettled in train stations, Put on trains not fit for cattle, Put in a cage(Southampton)yes a cage where even the top was fenced, And you wonder why some(including myself)railed against society, 10s of 1000s were at it all over the Country it's how it was for some, But one thing I'll add, If you were sitting with your partner in a pub and you were being bullied for wearing your colours by the home fans and our kind walked in...you'd stop sh!tting your pants.

I was in that cage once at The Dell. Demented locals spitting at us through the bars, police laughing , no wonder we had a bit of a go after the game.

He’s a bit of a prat but what has Vine ever done or said that comes anywhere close to Barton’s antics?

Vine used his show to constantly criticise poor people, saying people deliberately chose to go on benefits and benefit fraud was a thing.

He made his 10 year old daughter a shareholder in a company to reduce his tax bill whilst campaigning against genuinely poor and disabled people.

Benefit fraud costs us far less than we gain on unclaimed benefits that people are entitled to.. Tax dodging costs us billions.

Bit of a liberty calling anyone else a nonce really given he's been unable to keep his hands off kids in the past 👀

Jeezus, what an horrific choice to take sides with or against, Barton or Vine.  Trump or Johnson, Davies or Jewell, Forest or Leeds would all have  been easier.
