desirelines
Do we think that this “experience” will help young players like Sibley in the long run or will it hinder their progress? Sibley and Bird seem worse than they were a year ago. Buchanan and Knight seem to be about the same level. jimtastic56, Deej and CBRammette 1
Cam the Ram
3 minutes ago, Andicis said: I honestly think Rooney has treated Sibley very very poorly. Yep, Rooney is being a right rick. He's regularly the most impactful sub (even when it's usually only 10 minutes he's given) and it's always, "he needs to do more." Meanwhile Waghorn, Jozwiak, Gregory etc. get much more chances than him and have been woeful for the majority of the time, yet seem to receive much less criticism than Sibley. nottingram
Rooney seems to be holding Sibley to a higher standard than everyone else for some reason. Its easy to say he has to do more in his cameos but we are all sitting there watching Waghorn do nothing and watching Jozwiak stand on the ball by accident a million times a game while doing nothing else so that excuse really doesn’t wash. We are completely insipid from open play and we have an exciting and creative attacking midfielder twiddling his thumbs. It’s really bizarre kash_a_ram_a_ding_dong, CBRammette, Ramarena and 6 others 7
Olton Ram
Publicly criticising a 19 year old after coming on as a sub doesn't strike me as great man management alanmarklewis, Andicis, Rev and 11 others 13
May Contain Nuts
Single handedly turn us around in 10-20 minute, usually out of position, or else you're in the firing line. Great. Rev, Cam the Ram, Andicis and 4 others
Ghost of Clough
"Has to do more" yet has been the player closest to scoring for 4 games. That's despite playing in only 25% of the available minutes. Andicis, rynny, Deej and 1 other 3
The Scarlet Pimpernel
Wayne was absolutely correct. Sibley has not done anywhere enough for a long time. 19 isn't young in football. Marriot Ram99, Deej, Parsnip and 1 other
CBRammette
Its starting to change my opinion of Rooney on its own. Think how excited we were after that hat-trick ironically against Milwall. strawhillram, Andicis, Marriot Ram99 and 2 others
jimtastic56
Sibley scored a hat trick v Millwall 9 month ago. It was declared that he was the player money couldn’t buy. Mel had searched Europe for a manager that would be great for the young players. Rosenior was the telly pundit that was the expert that had the knowledge of the championship. I’m sorry to say the management team has not been good for our young players especially Sibley. Rooney has some nerve telling a player he has to do more - if it wasn’t for Bielik being in the side for a few games we’d be in the bottom three playing this managers negative poo football. jimtastic56, Andicis, strawhillram and 1 other 1

What good will this do? A side and player low in confidence calling him out publicly is pathetic. Especially when you consider our atrocious attacking play this season. This is a major alarm bell for me. Rooney’s handling of Whittaker with the sub was questionable but possibly understandable. This is plain stupid. He’s annoying me recently. Claiming Buchanen is England potential (ridiculous claim) and now this. Sort it out Rooney. Andicis, jimtastic56, Deej and 1 other 1
BIllyD
Unless I'm missing something, he is right, he has to do more otherwise he will continue to be on the bench. He will have told him exactly the same face to face, there is no surprise in what he is saying. If he gets asked what any player needs to do to get a starting place, I'm sure he will give the same answer to that as well. DCFC1388
Other than hitting the bar which I personally think he should have done better with, what did Sibley actually do today when he came on? Roberts & Watson showed more when they came on than what Sibley did. Edited March 13, 2021 by DCFC1388
Boycie
I think Sibbers will react well to this, if Rooney didn’t rate him he’d just drop him and not call him out. They must think he can take it. I recon he can too. lrm14
