Fair play to Rooney for that comment, the door is definitely still open for Sibley. He was excellent against Fulham and Blackburn before lockdown. He has a lot of potential but it probably won't be used here. He should be good for 10-12 goals a season. I expect him to move in the summer and I fancy a premier league side will take a punt for the 3 or 4 million we will inevitably take. He's losing value and career movement sat here. He's not getting game time because he gives away too many free kicks . If we were more on the front foot and scoring freely the occasional goal from a silly free kick is accepted . I just think our present 'predicament' Rooney can't quite find a suitable role for him (at the moment).
