Bristol City (H) - Match Thread

Superb.

Didn’t feel like a backs against the wall job despite them having the lion share of possession.

Felt we did much more with the ball today when we won it back. Some of the play was superb ie the Kenzo chance just before his goal with the quick play between elder, NML and Jackson.

I love Jackson. He’s hard work and quality combined. Must be a right horrible bleeder to come up against.

A big statement anyway. We’re not just here to make the numbers up.

What was said? Is cbt fit?

Yes said cbt and Washington are back in full training but said competition for places is now really high and it’s hard to even get on the bench nevermind the first team.

That was an established Championship side sweeping away a poor promoted League 1 side...

Oh sorry wait. Other way round.....

That was a promoted League 1 side sweeping away an poor established Championship side.

What a performance. Can't see a fault in one single player.

Elder. My MOTM. Unplayable.

JWZ. Wow. My fave GK since Poom. And a nutcase.

Bristol City. What a boring club. And they stole our Knighty chant. And agent Bird. Cheers mate.

Back to New Mills via Sheffield with a smile on it face.

Great performance and result. Perfect antidote to the Barrow debacle!

Sometimes these things happen in football, an absolute poo fest of a performance and then a complete turn around.

Whilst we won’t be able to replicate this performance throughout the entire season, let’s hope we are close enough for a good amount of games.

Best performance since Warne came, just fantastic all across the pitch in attack and defence. Midfield exceptional. Hopefully this will put to bed any calls for Warne to go this is his team playing his football and it was bloody greatCOY🐏

Nice sentiments but not a chance. The “anti” brigade will dust themselves down after this and be ready and waiting to pounce once we lose a game😄

Just don't worry about it

Get a Chinese and the beers in and have a great evening - into the international break on a win...and into the top-half of the league!

They're not thinking about how much you're enjoying it so why bother wasting time on how much they're not! 😄

P.G Wodehouse from the Directors box, as guest of Mrs Clowes.

It was the sort of day that made you feel the world was a pretty decent sort of place after all, rather like a summer fête where the weather behaves itself and the vicar’s had a tot of something to steady the nerves. The Moet corks were popping at full time, with the exuberance of a thousand Roman candles, the kind you might see at the end of a splendid fireworks display, and rightly so, for the chaps under Warne’s command had delivered a performance that would have had even the most stoic of spectators nodding in approval. Gone was the lingering memory of that ghastly business at Barrow, replaced by a display so brimming with vim and vigour that one felt positively exhausted just watching. The defensive quartet—Nyambe, Elder, Nelson, and Cashin—were, it must be said, a veritable wall of granite, with Zetterström between the sticks bounding about like some sort of ballet dancer on a vitamin regime. And what a sight it was to see young Ozoh, charging about the pitch like a gladiator fresh from the Coliseum, thundering the ball into the net with the precision of a marksman. Kenzo’s opener was the sort of goal that would have had the poets scribbling furiously, and Jackson’s follow-up was nothing short of a masterclass in how to hit the thing with gusto. As for Jerry Yates, well, one couldn’t help but feel he was the missing piece in this grand jigsaw, darting about the place and coming perilously close to adding his name to the score sheet. All in all, it was the sort of match that would have had Gussie Fink-Nottle leaping about with unbridled joy, as reinforcements wait in the wings to further bolster this resurgent Rams side. With the clouds parting and the sun shining, things are decidedly on the up for Derby County, and one can only imagine what glorious chapters lie ahead in this rip-roaring tale.

Does Gussies love for DCFC surpass his love for his newts?? Brilliant report and please keep these up for the rest of the season. Much appreciated.
