Match Thread: vs Northampton Town (a)
Sufferingfool replied to Rampant's topic in Derby County Forum
Not read through much of this thread, listened to Talksport first half and first 20 mins of second and then went for a walk as it was obviously going to be ‘one of those days’. Seen the highlights and should have been 2 or 3 up by HT but this s**t happens sometimes. Irritated and disheartened yes BUT if we had the choice of taking only 3 points from the last two games, which many thought a distinct possibility then we’d have taken them from the Bolton game no problem key now is to beat Blackpool and take something from Pompy both of which is eminently doable COYR. -
Just a bit simpler we don’t do complicated Ebou Ebou Ebou Ebou Ebou Ebou We are the Adam’s Family

Will the last three games sell out.

👍IF we hadn’t won any games that year we would have been relegated! -
Match Thread: vs Bolton Wanderers (H)

This We nullified an attack which had scored for fun the previous game. We scored from a well worked set piece. We defended excellently and as a team. We have magnificent support. We won 😄 I said to my grandchildren at the final whistle this is why we come to football for moments like this…I’m still buzzing COY🐏🐏🐏🐏🐏 -

You have forgotten to add the postscript to any Derby County success *the league was weak that year! **with a decent manager we’d have won by more!! 🙄 -
Love Fozzy. A very versatile player who gives nothing short of 100% game in game out. Yesterday slotted seamlessly into being the central back of three and demonstrated exceptional fitness have been out for so many weeks. His level of commitment to a tackle having had 2 ACL repairs is astounding.

It will be important that the South stand sets the tone, united and loud then the rest will follow. No need to get into negative tit for tat stuff with Bolton just positive support for the team whatever is going on on the pitch. -
Rate the last film you saw partie deux

Dune 2 was very good. Essential to watch 1 again beforehand and will warrant a second watch Paul Goddard/10 Copa 71 astonishing documentary of an untold unknown football tournament…..until now. A fascinating insight into footballing history and attitudes. Mark Wright/10 -
He’s been a breath of fresh air.

I may have missed something but I am not aware there was ever a decision to be made….except in virtual reality on here!
-
If we are going to be automatically promoted then I think all these records will need to be broken!
-
The position suits him as he is much better when receiving the ball in front of him to run on to. His best games that I have seen have been at LB or Wing back.

Great win, fine goals, exceptional support well done you Rams. It is interesting to note how much shorter the threads are when we win…..we do enjoy a good moan!

Feel good article, lovely to hear from Igor and Paulo, just what we need COYR -
Happy Birthday 🎂 hope you enjoy it 😁

Exactly what my sons and I were discussing during the game, suddenly we had someone finding space and wanting the ball very much like Didzy. Hopefully will be the catalyst to see us finish the season well.
-
Ditto only game missed at home!!!!! Do remember the gallows humour of the fans and don’t remember many leaving we just sucked it up in the sure and certain knowledge that we would return the following year🙄.

You will like Waterlog then and yes the Salt Path is very inspiring, have walked several sections of the SW coast path since reading it!
-
A favourite book of mine is Waterlog by Roger Deakin, essentially a random journey through Britain wild swimming (written before it was a ‘thing’). A beautiful read if you appreciate nature and the sensuality of swimming. Best book recently was My Effin Life by Geddy Lee, obviously best if you are a fan of Canadian rock band Rush, but has some really thoughtful content on his family’s experience in the holocaust and is pretty well written for an autobiography.

All the things my head stops me from saying
Sufferingfool replied to sage's topic in The Jim Smith Room
“Why are you tying flowers to a memorial bench it’s for sitting on and remembering it’s not a grave stone” Followed closely by “and are you going to return in a weeks time and remove them before they die…. I thought not” Also “if you’re going to ride your bike on the pavement get a f***ing bell” -
Sadly that was the same for me especially with Eric Steele. I have been able to listen to the commentary of away games recently but today briefly turned it on but only lasted a couple of minutes. It always sounds so negative and leaves me feeling depressed and angry. I’m aware some like it but I’m not one of them.

Dwight Gayle - Signed until the end of the season
Sufferingfool replied to Topram's topic in Transfer Forum
You’re right….what is going wrong here. Just to return to normality let’s be clear he’s just a flat track bully; a Poundland CM; his legs have gone; he won’t want to play for Warne; he’s only come to play padel;…..that should do it….yes welcome to Derby Dwight 😁. -
Fair point.
