Serial Whingers Notts Forest playtime, which we simply cannot accept.

Forest’s existence up there is to make up the numbers.

FFP basically restricts them from ever challenging for a top 7 spot let alone anything more.

Today in Palace they were playing a side they wish to emulate.

But at least Palace have the London factor to attract better players.

Nobody will want to play for Forest unless it’s for stupid money and the rules evidently mean that isn’t sustainable.

That's essentially what we would ever be if we got there too. Unless things change, there's more to be said about regularly being  a top-half Championship side than just scrapping it out for 17th every season.

Is the title under this person’s username customised or is it standard for any Forest fan that signs up?

What constitutes not "getting away with it"? How long are we supposed to stay in the doldrums with Morris long-gone before we can have the temerity to win football games?

They had several transfer embargoes in the days before points deductions, not to mention several winding-up petitions for late payments. They were getting away with it for years before we ever got charged.

I'd hate to see what we would have got if -21 points, transfer embargos, academy decimated, administration and relegation is "getting away with it."

We'd have been laughed at if we stayed down in League One for years and years, but now we look like we may get out in two seasons (an amazing achievement when you look at it objectively), it means we got off lightly.

.... It’s considerably more than a lot of teams in a similar boat in the Premier League, though (Brighton: £110m for ref) and the liabilities (both player performance and financial) are massive.

Wouldn't have been cheaper to blow up his bakery?

Good article on the situation here by Barney Ronay (who someone on here told me was a forest fan?!):

https://www.theguardian.com/football/2024/mar/18/supporters-should-blame-club-owners-not-the-rules-for-points-deductions

Particularly enjoyed this paragraph:

The issue is buying 29 players in a single year, spending more than every year of your entire club history combined, more than Barcelona, Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain. Failing to make the emergency stop because you’re careering off the mountain side is really an issue about careering off the mountainside in the first place. Football follows the market. If Johnson were more valuable to more clubs he might have been sold in time for the right amount. He wasn’t. So pay up.

He's a Millwall fan. And a great journo.

I don't know.  Are they still getting court dates for not paying caterers bills and agents.

Well, forest's ownership must have been convinced that buying a referee would have the same effect in the prem that it has in other leagues....but no ones been brave enough to tell him mark clattenberg is retired and is just writing letters on club headed paper.
