Lawrence, buchanan, Byrne, Roos, Morrison, Allsop, Stearman, Kazim, Forsyth, Davies, watson, thompson and Cashin are all out of contract in the summer. Of our starting 11 against huddersfield only Sibley and Knight would still be here if we still exist and if we're still not allowed to renew contracts. Great that Festy wants to stay and hopefully he dig his heels in, as if the situation does resolves itself then he will be offered a contract. If it doesn’t, he won’t be short of options. It is an inevitable consequence of the EFL refusing to let us extend contracts. So Festy is going to be the first of many, given most of the squad needs to sort themselves out with somewhere to play next season. The only possible solution is to get the club sale through as quickly as possible in a way that the EFL "graciously" allows us out of embargo and allows us to sign players on higher wages than the current minuscule (in football terms) cap. It's quite common practice to do those on a neutral ground during the season when the schedule is tight. So hopefully, it was just a quick trip to smoke some pot as Joiner's is out of fashion.
