EtoileSportiveDeDerby
90k pw. Surely not. Some PL will not be on this kind of money. And even if it is a third of that it is still 1.5M per year for a rookie manager. Unless 32RED pay his wages you would think championship manager arent in that bracket. Bob The Badger
For all his faults, Rooney doesn't strike me as a quitter. And that is what he'll look like to other clubs if he walks. Premier ram
AutoWindscreens
£90k per week £90k per week £90k per week! That says it all. If that is anywhere near true then we deserve to go bust. cosmic
If this has any ounce of truth, I don’t think he’d necessarily think of quitting because we’re in League One. It’d be all the other garbage surrounding the state of the club that would make him leave. And I wouldn’t blame him one bit. rammieib
The article lost the one ounce of respectability it may have got near to when they think he's on 90k a week ?
Wolfie
If he wasn't so inept as a Manager then any possible points reduction wouldn't have the potential of sending us down in the first place. He spent months saying he was taking "full responsibility" (whatever that actually means), then he needs to own the fact that it was only Sheff Weds' deduction that saved us. Bye Wayne. Tamworthram
It’s probably just Colleen sharing untruths with her/his “friends” again to see who is leaking stories to the press. ? Jourdan, jimtastic56 and cosmic
RadioactiveWaste
I'm pretty sure his manager contract is *moer or less* what we were due to pay him in wages til the end of his contract as a player, because 32Red weren't going to pay the additional sponsor money if he wasn't playing. He's certainly not on what he was as a player and even when he was playing i doubt it was *quite* that high.
maxjam
Regardless of whether some people want him to stay or go, why would you want to be the Derby manager at the moment? Especially when you are just starting out in your career? Small squad, no money, constant controversy, potential takeover (48 hours I heard ?) typically resulting in managerial change, I could go on... I'd have a hard time selling this club to my Dad atm, a lifelong Derby fan, let alone any potential manager with an ounce of credability. I'm not sure I can remember a time I've been less enthusiastic going into a new season ? COYR jimtastic56, MickD and Rammy03
RoyMac5
He said last season that he would stay if we were relegated. If this is true it's more to do with how the EFL embargo and lack of funds and broken promises is affecting his chances of signing any half decent players. i-Ram, RadioactiveWaste, Rammy03 and 2 others
jimtastic56
£90,000 a week sounds a lot , but it’s only 20 mins in a casino. hintonsboots
hintonsboots
Looking at it from a different angle. I’m sure the self important lot at Stasi HQ, glory in Wayne being part of the EFL and raising its profile. Would they want to risk being responsible for losing England’s record goal scorer from their ranks……… ??? In a word…. YES. Rammy03

I cannot see any other halfway decent manager wanting to come here with things the way they are. Even Curtis Davies wouldn't want it. ? Who is going to attract players?
