Massive oversight in all the interviews I’ve read/watched with him so far, that he hasn’t been asked this question, as we all want to know -

Are sausages back on the menu???

Hope not, that was the start of the slide

Served with onions and we would all be crying.

Really looking forward to going to the match today with my boys. This is what it's all about. Without David Clowes stepping in it wouldn't be happening. Thank you very much Mr Clowes?

If you could bottle that feeling when the second goal went in today… thank you so much David.

"Clowes stepped in after a protracted sale of the Rams to the American businessman Chris Kirchner fell through with a deal wrapped up quickly. "On July 1, 2022, following a very short period of due diligence, the group incorporated a new company to acquire the assets and business of Derby County Football Club from the administrators, Quantuma.

It also acquired the Pride Park Stadium from the former owner in a separate company. "As a major investor and property owner in the East Midlands, the directors considered that the potential liquidation of the local city football club was not in the best interests of the group or those of the city of Derby itself.

The group considered it had a corporate social responsibility to the local economy of Derby and could not stand by and let the football club fail. "The directors consider that this is a medium-term investment to return the football club to stability and add significant value to the initial cost of circa £60m."

If you look at problems with the clubs coming down the EFL, if you look at Derby, a classic example, when Mel Morris decided to stop funding, Derby were within a hair’s breadth of going bust. We were lucky with Derby and it was brilliant that David Clowes stepped in. Derby is probably the closest one to actually going into liquidation rather than just into administration.

Rick Parry November 22.

The EFL nearly made their liquidation target.

When Kirchner's money never materialised, we feared for the future of our club. Thanks to DC, we have finished the year not only still in business, but 5th in the league.

That would have been impossible to hope for in those dark days of early June.

Here here. Makes me think what may have been every time we sing "they docked us 21 points.....". We should never forget and celebrate Clowes day every year

We did.

But we didn't know about any of the behind the scenes machinations.

We feared death as much as any hypochondrial thanatophobic, but take a step back b from the emotion and it's clear that our future was always going to be secured by David Clowes, at whatever stage we reached before his intervention.

Derby County will never and would never have died.

Dunno I’d say there was a massive effort from many quarters to save the club but still it was touch and go. Would DC have stepped in say if HMRC had refused to accept 25% ? Or if MM had refused to sell the stadium for less that fmv ?  Would DC have even bought the stadium in the first place if he’d known Kirch was going to exit stage left ? And what if Kirch had bought us, might that have been worse ?

We signed six players, Collins, Smith, McGoldrick, Mendez-Laing, Hourihane and Chester, anyone of which would probably get into any other team in this league.

We’ve managed to keep Knight, Bird, Cashin,  Sibley, Davies, Thompson, Stearman and Forsyth.

We’ve signed youngsters Oduroh, Rooney plus Dobbin, Osula and Roberts on loan.

We signed three keepers including Wildsmith who is my player of the season.

Considering that just a few months back we were on the verge of handing the club to Kirchner, had five players under contract and no pre season the performances so far are to quote a well known ex manager of this famous football club “nothing short of remarkable”.

Happy New Year to all Ramsfans and……………………Thank you David Clowes.

The communication skills of Messrs Clowes and Warne are remarkable...endearing...motivating...honest...and synergistic.

Just like rot starts at the top, we now have proof that the top is where good starts too.

I don't care what happens on the field (well, of course I do) as long as we have these two to look up to, admire and treasure for their passion, commitment, vision, common sense and honesty. True leaders, but with their feet on the ground.

Thank you both, for being who you are. We are lucky to have you.

COYR.
