Player of the Season - Marlon Pack. He scored the goal that kept us up.

Technically true today but lots of things over the course of the season have kept us up, not least Andre Wisdom's late goal against Wycombe given that they remarkably were the team who finished 1 place below us.

The fact it went down to the last game of the season is relevant. All teams played 46 games, Derby managed to get more points than 3 teams which meant we are a championship team next season. You can argue the fact that Wednesday had a points deduction, but everyone including them knew this at the start of the season. Looking at today's game and with sky sports replays, the first goal came from a throwing that was ours (Forsyth never touched the ball). Their 3rd goal was scored by a player in an offside position. If there was VAR it would have resulted in a 3-1 win to the Rams.

And please, lets not have anyone stating Rotherham having to play all those games in hand over such a short period of time hindered them. When they pulled the Covid card (not once but Twice) they did have enough players to play their games. The EFL should have adopted the same ruling as the FA, Derby played their cup game against Chorley with enough fit players. It is what it is, we are in the championship for next season, lets go again (Barnsley did this season).

One thought I had throughout the second half.

You, me and anyone with half an eye of the Championship in recent years could highlight Barry Bannan as Sheff Weds main threat.

So why on earth did we leave him unmarked on the half way line all second half, and give him the time and space to play unimpeded?

Couldn't a championship specialist point out that CKR would be better served stood on Bannans toes, than 20 yards from their only threat?

The fact we are better at admin and paperwork than Sheffield Wednesday kept us up!

Come on gotta keep it interesting for us, I mean why take a narrow victory and calmly accept championship status when you can go 3-3 and get 6(?????) minutes of added time to blow your anxiety levels ?

Yeah, I can quite happily watch that match, extra 6 minutes and all, over and over. I can laugh at how worried I was. ? #COYR

So earlier in the thread I mentioned I got a 24 hour Facebook ban for calling my made a d***head during the match.

I appealed.

The ban has been increased to three days.

Wow, I didn't even know there was such a thing. Is there some sort of swear filter installed? Blame your mate the d...head if I was you! ?

Wow! Just wow! What a game! What a day! What an emotional rollercoaster! Forget the reasons why we’ve been in this mad scramble to survive today, the reason we are football fans is for days like today. The inquest recriminations questions about how we move forward can be saved for another day.

The defence (well Craig Forsyth) forgot how to defend today but the team bailed him out and he was massively greatful to his big mate waggy at the end. Foz is part of this club and has been an outstanding servant, he had a beast as Eric Steele said but he’s an honest experienced pro and we need him around going forward.

A common question has been does this team have the heart and the bottle. My word they had it in spades today. They fronted up. Waggy, question his ability all you want but he’s a good honest pro. Lawrence- performed again and was key today. Kaz did what he could. Roberts at last showed his quality and Joz was also good when he came on.

So much emotion after the game from the players who care, and from Rooney who cares. In the emotion today id back him 100% going forward and take everything back. That’s why we should just all enjoy today and then tomorrow our rational thoughts can return (Rooney isn’t the right man) and the inquest can start.

Rooney is right though when he says the club need to start planning tonight and sort out the off field stuff, because next season will be around very quickly and we cannot afford to start on the backfoot again.
