I wasn’t aware of that.

It’s madness but when you think about it, it’s only £20,000 a week more than we (or 32Red) are reportedly paying Rooney.

But we’d be getting a far more accomplished manager and coach with a good track record in this division and a knack of getting a less than spectacular group of players to perform way above their level.

I know maybe it’s an ambitious choice. But he’s out of work - so what’s the harm in aiming high?

He has one promotion from this division doesnt he? Same as Phil Brown and Nigel Pearson.

Who else was in Covent Garden this morning, getting smashed up and singing for the boys? I passed out about and hour before the game. Proper fan me.

What happened anyway, last thing I remember was Marriott was on the bench? Who's the president?

For me its taken me this long to post. I've struggled like most of us probably, with knowing what even to think. All I distill it down to is we've stayed up and we go again in the same division. In terms of today, Waghorn turned up when we needed him and for me that says a lot. He's had criticism, a lot of it right, but he cared today and he wanted it and when we look back on this rollercoaster, he is a big reason we stayed up. COYR.

He only managed one season in this division didn’t he? 100% success rate. Not as good as Wazza, agreed ?

Not comparing to Rooney, who hasnt yet had a full season in this division with his own players ?

No, you were comparing him to other Managers who had many more seasons managing in this division ?

Was just comparing his so called 'track record' in this division. As far as I can see, it equates to 1 promotion, the same as the other managers I compared him to.

Had plenty of time reflect, and have the occasional beer.  First half was a typical relegation decider - two nervy teams worried about making a mistake.  The goal just before half time made it into a better game.  It opened up a bit and we had to go for it.

Second half was a good game and, like many have said, I went through a range of emotions.  The wife left me alone, just me and the dogs.  Who’s this mad man jumping up and down and head his hands the next minute must have been running through their minds!!  But we did it.  The team showed some character.

Waghorn really was brilliant today.  And 10 mins of Curtis to come on and be a calm head.  Let’s enjoy the evening and raise a glass to the boys, we can do a post-mortem later.

Imagine what It would have been like if The place had been full...

Place would have been electric as they came out to start the game

Rotherham score-everyone is gutted.
kazim scores-Rams go wild-disallowed-wendies go crazy.

Wendies score on the stroke of half them-they go wild-ruins the half time pint.

we come out fighting, waggy scores, the place is crazy again.

roberts.....oh my word it’s back on.

then the piggies fight back, and their fans have hope.

news comes through that Cardiff have equalised.....the whole crowd is up.

penalty....Goal.

then hanging on hanging on..

It would have been the perfect game to be at.

It wasn't too bad from my Stockport sofa and my half time cuppa cost approximaltely £2.49 less.

And that’s one more than Rooney, isn’t it?

I am not saying a manager would like Wilder would guarantee anything.

But I think we need a fresh start and a clean break and some reinvigoration around the place.

Today was a great occasion and a great moment, but do you believe Rooney can move us forward?

1 promotion in 1 season wasn’t it, do you think he could have done better?

I dont know and unless he is given a clean slate and chance to bring his own players in we will never know.

What happened to wanting stability and MM to stop firing managers?

What this season? Yes. He spent £25m on a striker that hasnt scored a goal.

Ok we will assume I am wrong and we should go for Wilder.

A big criticism of MM has been that he has gone for managers with different philosophies and styles of play.

So how does the way Wilder plays suit our current squad?

1 win in 15 happened.

Being two minutes and one goal from going down to League 1 happened.

I would change things. I think we gambled with Rooney and in the end, luck smiled down on us.

We ignored the warning signs and gave Cocu more time.

I think we need to learn from that. We’d be better served starting afresh, I believe.

What style are you referring too?

What a bloody day! Just taking stock and having a muted celebration with a glass or two of vegan Prosecco ( the other half’s a veggie).

Admittedly I did have a can of super  strong IPA immediately after the final whistle but that was just to straighten the day out.

What’s vegan Prosecco? Does normal Prosecco have animal products in it?

One thought I had throughout the second half.

You, me and anyone with half an eye of the Championship in recent years could highlight Barry Bannan as Sheff Weds main threat.

So why on earth did we leave him unmarked on the half way line all second half, and give him the time and space to play unimpeded?

Couldn't a championship specialist point out that CKR would be better served stood on Bannans toes, than 20 yards from their only threat?

He’s not all that.  The reason he had to go that far out was a good sign.  Can’t believe how comfortable we were in the last 10 or so minutes
