Genuine question to everyone on this thread...

so let’s say bilic was appointed in the summer (no matter which league we’re in)...

then we go on a 1 win in 13 games run. Does this thread start all over again?

serious question as we can’t keep hiring and firing as thats why we’re in this f’in mess to begin with. A little thing called stability might just be needed? But football fans just don’t allow it (not just DCFC - all)?

I like the celebrity culture. Who wants to be a club no-one gives a damn about? I like that when we're doing well the media drool over us.

There's only one thing worse than being talked about...that's not being talked about!

I must admit it was fun for a while, but it's been painful since Cocu.

But how far do you go with that? We stick by Wazza in to next season and we then go another 1 win in 13...do you then still keep him for stability?

I wouldnt hire Bilic.

Using this argument we could say why didn’t we hang on to Cocu, Mac or Clement?

We’re going to find out if stabilising pays off, because We aren’t sacking Rooney and he’s not inclined to walk away.

I don't know if it's the done thing anymore, as reputation seems to carry such weight, but I'd like to see us interview a phone book of options (rather than a select 3-4) and unearth a charismatic, high energy character that would get these players to run through walls.

Lampard to a point had some of those, but what about Jody Morris? A clearly very capable coach who seemed to have that skillset. We need someone who can spread a bit of life into a club that feels somewhat deflated.

So, a successful coach but with no experience as manager. Where have we seen that before?

Was the original suggestion of Curbs not a joke?

Maybe I'm making the same mistake and you are being sarcastic.. I think Hughes is incredibly annoying, miserable and his teams are dull as ditchwater.

Really? That Blackburn side with Bentley in was one of most underrated PL sides around. He had a massively entertaining Fulham team and he all but rid Stoke of the Pulis-ball they played.

How so? Pretty sure two of the last three managers left for “better” jobs. So firing isn’t the reason at all.

Yeah but too much attention whilst you are embarrassing yourself is not good.

I agree with the stability point but that only works with the right manager. We should have stuck with Mac2, but Rowett and Lampard weren't sacked. They were probably meant to be stable long term appointments. With the position were in as a club, if we do well in a season but don't get promoted, there's a big risk another club will take our manager. But if we do badly in a season and stick with a manager, then theirs as chance we're in the mess we're in now. It's very difficult to find the right balance

We can't ever go 13 games without a win whatever the manager.

You only get stability in the managerial role with success, however it's measured.

Performing better, not losing and seeing improvement can be one of those measures but we are not seeing any of those barometers being met, they are all going in the opposite direction.

Being 4th bottom,5 losses in a row and no wins in 13 is way beyond a blip and not sustainable.

Realistically at present who would want to come ?

1. Club for sale,

2. In serious financial problems

3. Appear leaderless both on and off the pitch

4.  Set to lose a good proportion of experience the playing staff out of contract,

5. A possibility of relegation,

6. Maybe a points deduction for breaking EFL rules next season

and that just what we know about.

Doesn't sound very inviting ?

And then if someone does turn up, you've got to wonder why!?

We're a decent sized club with facities to attract players.

Of that there is little doubt, however, when it comes the important stuff, money, there is little to spare to buy the kind of quality player that would make a difference to what is being dished up currently.

Add to the fact we now have a track record of being late payers and made a bit of a big deal there would be no delay in players receiving this month’s salary, as though that was something to celebrate as opposed to being a contractual obligation, I don’t think the queue to join us will be that long.
