He also ignored the calls for a Rooney/Bird midfield. It’s looks like it could be the White/Knight combo till the end of the season. Lots more pace and energy. Not sure what a Rooney bird is, but I do like the sound of a White Knight charging in to help secure promotion. archram, CBRammette, Ilkestonian and 3 others 4 1

I'm pretty certain that none of us fans ever suggested that, even when it was going well. It was pretty clear from the off that he intended us to be a stepping stone and wouldn't be here long. Well, he got that right, didn't he? RadioactiveWaste

Carl Sagan
If you like your stats, here's the table from when Warne took charge on 22nd September (if Google is to be believed): https://www.twtd.co.uk/league-tables/competition:league-one/daterange/fromdate:2022-Sep-22/todate:2023-Jun-01/type:home-and-away/ It's from the Ipswich forum which is why they're highlighted. We've done well and have been the third best team in the division over this period. He comes across so well. Let's hope it's not a false dawn and we don't run out of games to catch the teams above us. FlyBritishMidland

He is the next Nigel Pearson though. He’s taken over a side that was trying to play football from the back, through the thirds and tried to get the playing a high-energy direct 4-4-2/4-4-1-1. It just turns out the the players are more suited to it than first thought whereas under Pearson they weren’t!

Pearson and PW seem to be totally different characters, plus Pearson didn't get enough time, due to alleged off pitch incidents. kash_a_ram_a_ding_dong

I’ll stick with Pearson playing Butterfield at wide left Hughes at defensive midfielder Hendrick on the Bench and Blackman as your best forward as being out of touch with what was available Reggie Greenwood

I think there is a couple minor differences like; Pearson never really seemed to know what he actually needed to get what he wanted to work, Warne has inherited a stronger squad relative to the league and he's taking his time a bit more. But the biggest biggest difference is one of them is a really good man manager and the other well.... was Pearson. And whilst that can go a long way in general its critical if you are trying to overhaul a side from a style point of view. jimtastic56
Warne really is the League 1 Pep. But Rosenior has got 13pts from his last 6 league games in the Championship , with a poor squad. He has taught them how to pass it out from the back. True our players did not like it , fans panicked. But if we get in the Championship next season , still under restrictions. Warne will have to prove himself as a tier 2 manager.

And in particular - what style suits the standard of football you play in .E.G. pub league v Champions league.

His record in the division is terrible. Obviously with a team with limited resources. It's not really a conversation for now though is it when we are unbeaten in 19 and have won 6 on the bounce? Let's just enjoy this while we can. Thanks. We know your opinion by now . Please don’t try to stop anyone else having some thoughts as the season progresses.
