Why do you make it sound like this is a Derby “hold my beer” game

Think they won at Boro midweek didn't they in the cup? So yeah, here comes Derby to end the league hoodoo.

If anyone uses Cross Country trains to get to Derby (apart from me?) there are none tomorrow.

Yes our Third World train service is cancelled again. I have some sympathy for rail staff but I’m in the private sector and we didn’t get a pay rise at all this year. We took a bonus instead and understood the financial necessity.

I can’t believe we continue to pay extortionate prices to sit (or stand) on a hot, rickety train which is often late.

My season ticket at Derby largely relies upon the trains running.

The train services are actually in the private sector so that they can make a profit ! With the UK tax payer supporting them massively, which is all bonkers if you ask me - if services are essential then the nation should own and control them just like the current energy sector debacle

I don't know what the answer is, but I remember when a lot of these industries were state run and they were a lot worse than they are now. Our rail services services might not be up there with the Swiss, but neither are they third world, is there such a place as second world?

We haven’t won the World Cup maybe because we haven’t been good enough? Left behind technically ??‍♂️

Few reasons I guess. It’s no coincidence that our women (technically inferior to France and Germany maybe Sweden too) have the best coach and win. (Looking forward to seeing Southgate out-witted once again in December )

Southgate is over cautious and needs to concentrate on the football rather than attempting to teach the country moral standards from his position in a sport which has no moral standards or sportsmanship whatsoever.

To describe the sport of football in that way is a bit harsh, maybe you're refering to the higher echelons of the game? Even then there are many top pros who give time and money to various good causes.

The Rams have won a number of awards for their contributions to the local community and this continues right down the pyramid through clubs like Solihull Moors, my local team, who finance over 70 teams of different groups, right through to your local kids teams run by volunteers who give up their time and money to help others.

No, I’m talking about what many pundits call part and parcel of the game. The only sport where you can tell the officials to F off , time wasting, faking fouls, walking off at a snails pace when subbed. Other than that I agree with your post re community contribution etc.

Not really any more.

The original definition was based on First World being US, Western Europe and democratic countries aligned to them. The Second World referred to the communist-socialist, less industrialized states under the influence of the Soviet Union. The Third World was everything else.
