Binned off by Arsenal and given a chance with us. Gets first team action and three goals into his career he's off. Thanks for the loyalty fella

Rather harsh, take it you know about the negotiations with the clubs, if it is a £million with add ons then, that could help the club limp on till the end of season, personally hate what the ELF are making us do with the academy, but we can rebuild it when the new owner is in place, over a period of time.

Luke Plange is not the young kid you should take your anger out on, and sure he goes with Wayne's blessing

He's left now.

I believe Steve Bould gave Derby the nod about Plange.

There was a interview somewhere with Jake Buxton, he got the tip off from his relationships within the Arsenal setup. An odd link but there you go, it's definitely worked out -just a shame it isn't longer.

The theory of having new owners come in and giving a longer term contract is great. As is the idea that he’d benefit from first team football with us. But we all know that in reality, whatever the ownership situation, a PL club comes in for one of our kids and and we have precious little chance of keeping him. Delap, Gordon, Williams to name but three in the recent past.

They (or their advisers) don’t give a ? about first team football or long term development. They care about the big contract, the big commission and the big name. They don’t care if he languishes  in their u23s for a few years before going out on endless loans (if he doesn’t quite make it). The player themselves also - not surprisingly - no doubt thinks this is their way to the big time and that they’ll be playing every week before you know it. Who needs Championship or League 1 football!?

Hopefully we get a fee. In normal circumstances, this will also be the model moving forward anyway. Sustainability through selling our self-grown assets.

Its not just us as a club that gets this although our position doesnt help at all - Richard Osman tweet and replies today about same thing with poor old Fulham

Yeah true and we were compensated for those two aswell but, as with Williams and Plange, I would still rather keep the players and see how they develop at our club.

The point I was trying to make is that, although we must lose these players whether through Administration or player agents or simply the glamour of the Premier League, the meagre amount of compensation we receive is not a cause for celebration and cannot - IMHO - be classed as "good business".

Dont get me wrong, the way Prem clubs can cherry pick our talent like Delap & Gordon for very little really is frustrating, even more so when we spend so much on being a Cat 1 academy.

The point I was trying to make is that whether in admin or not we lose young players for pittance in these situations, so to get 1.4m for 2x out of contract very inexperienced players whilst in admin is good business...especially when you consider Shinnie went for 30k

Loyalty? Was Shinnie disloyal when we sold him for magic beans? Was jagielka disloyal when he wasnt allowed to re sign for us? Was williams disloyal? Was Marshall? Was Baldock?

It may have escaped your notice, but the clubs in a bit of a pickle at the moment. We need cash and if we get what we need for plange it keeps the club going a little while longer. Loyalty doesnt come in to this at all.

Wouldn't like to see young players leave, however, if this was made clear back start of January we could have pushed prices up.  Not bothered about having him back really.  Wasn't his dad/mum banging on about him not being able to play and he's off after 7 games.  Won't get a hungry player now he's got a move.  Just killing time.

I'd rather see an experienced striker in, but doubt that we'd be allowed that.
