 ... additional info re Wage Caps

"

When calculating total salary spending, the ‘cap’ includes:

Basic Wages;
Taxes;
Bonuses;
Image rights;
Agents’ fees and;
Other fees and expenses paid directly or indirectly to all registered players.
Payments directly linked to a Club’s progression in cup competitions or promotion are excluded from the Cap, while any income generated from players going out on loan is deducted from the Club’s Salary Cap calculation."

And as @Burtonram2066said the penultimate line makes everything else worthless

Not sure, would players go for a low wage with a juicy bonus on offer if they get promoted? Bit risky when the manager can get sacked through the season, new guy comes in, doesn't like you and you're unable to make a difference as you're sat on the bench.

Interesting they have thrown agents fees in there as well, long overdue, never understood why it wasn't down to the players to pay the agent for their services only. Will we see players start to represent themselves now, or use family and friends?

I'm sure our players report back from training next week or week after?

Not only has this charge seriously affected the investment and signings in January, it now risks wazzing on our preparations for next season.

Is there is period of time that Sheff Weds have to appeal? I just wonder if the EFL have got to wait for whatever period that is to be over before announcing the outcome.

This might have been already put on.

The Times saying sanctions are likely

Based on what? Because from the first bit of that article it appears their information is about as solid as the posters on this forum.

Be interesting to see the full story if we are punished. From the clubs original statement, there didn’t appear to have been any grounds for sanctions to be imposed. If we’re found guilty by an independent panel, you’d have to think there’s more to the story than meets the eye.

Is there any limitation on what bonuses you can get paid for? Just have one for appearances or number of times selected for the squad if there is no limit.

It worked fine for Wolves anyway. Their top class talent took lower wages than they should, but were compensated very well in promotion bonuses and promotion clauses for their wages.

Doesn’t sound good

Over the last few days, weeks, even months, we've seen posters and reporters stating that we will be found guilty/innocent and everything in between. I am yet to see any post where reliable sources are quoted. It's all guesswork at the moment. I don't care if it comes from the Times or George Thorne's barber. They all seem to have the same reliability.

Don't know. I'm not subscribed to The Times. I was hoping someone on here was so they could share a bit more info.
