There is no guarantee he could hold down a place in a team at a higher level at the moment. He'd be far better staying with us and getting regular game time whilst working his way back up to full strength.

The only thing you can't guarantee with him is he stays fit.

But if he is fit, he would comfortably walk into any team in the Championship.

    Bloke's a Rolls Royce.

  2. I cannot understand we've not changed a single thing about how we set up away from home.

2 wins in 21 is an absolute disgrace. There's no hiding from that.

If you're away form is that bad, surely the coaches need to look at what we're doing and change it?

We just do the same things over and over again.

Even if we'd won 5 out of 21 away this season, that is still woeful, but we'd be within touching distance of safety.

  3. We were never ever staying up this season as soon as that 21 point deduction kicked in.

The fact that we're now only talking that our chances have gone with 6 games to go is a testament to Rooney, the staff and the players for given absolutely everything.

A 21 point deduction and 2 wins out of 20 away games really gives us no chance. If only we'd won a couple more away.

Hopefully we get a 15 point deduction now and can start afresh next season.

    And what if Reading lose.

Even if Reading lose and it's still 6 points.

Realistically from the last 6 games you'd expect Reading to win 2.

Then we need to win 4 out of 6. Which when you consider we've won 2 away games all season. It's not happening.

I think id be alright with the 15 points being deducted this season. It wont take away from what the players & staff have done for the club this season & they will know as well as any new incoming signings will know we have a far better chance of bouncing straight back up starting on 0 points than another season on minus points.

Yes we have a slight chance still now but it is a very slim chance. Start from scratch next season, from 0 points, id have been happy with that offer 6 months ago so wont moan at it now.

I agree here. If Reading win their game in hand this week it'll be 9 points with 6 to go. Meaning we've got to win at least 3 out of 6 to have any chance and even that would mean we'd need Reading to lose all 6.

I can't see us winning 3 out of the last 6 game. Realistically Reading will win at least 2. Meaning we'd need 5 wins minimum and we aren't doing that.

If Reading beat Stoke at home this week then any slim chance we have is gone.

If we're gonna get -15 points taken off us then it might as well be now. Sweep this god awful season under the rug and give ourselves the best chance of getting out of league one next season.

I wouldn’t advocate such nefarious measures, however rumour is, that if click on the link and then very quickly put your phone into ‘airplane mode’ you can read articles behind paywalls.

Not saying I would do that, or did it with the Percy article a few minutes ago.

    Lovely bit of advice this

  7. If it's Mel Morris then I'm sorry but that is the absolute final straw for me.

That man took over a club in the play off final on the brink of the premier League and had left us with no assets, no young players and on the brink of league one with a very probable 15 point deduction as well as currently having 5 players contracted to us next season.

This is a man that wouldn't answer the phone to Rooney to such an extent that Rooney had to call from the club doctor's phone and then Mel answered straight away.

This club has been rotten to the core since this man took over and the only good thing to come out of this absolute horror show is that he will no longer be anywhere near this football club.

Rooney doesn't like him and clearly has no time for him. The amount of effort, heart, passion, desire that these players, Rooney and the coaching staff have put in this season despite all the circumstances, all the issues. These have all been caused by one man.

If he was to takeover or be part of any consortium taking over that would be a smack in the face to all that these players have done. When he's put us in this position solely to reduce the debt he's caused.

The man is a spineless, gutless piece of work and I want him nowhere near this football club ever again.

  8. From what he said after the match he told them at half time we'd be under pressure and to go long if needed.

Then he's relying on the players intelligence to know when to go long and when to play it out.

Whilst he's been brilliant recently, it all stemmed from Allsop yesterday. Putting us under unnecessary pressure.

The second goal came from him passing a ball to Bird when he was being pressed.

One final thing, whilst Cashin has been good since coming in, we've also conceded a lot of goals.

Personally I'd be going with experience now in Stearman. It's not a slight on Cashin at all.

I just think now isn't the time to be playing a young unproven kid at centre half when we don't need to.

  9. The way we came out that second half was an absolute shambles.

They pressed us from the off. For 10-15 mins just hit it long for a bit, take the pressure off.

First goal was criminal. Free header.

Second goal. Allsop passing that Ball into Bird when he was being pressed was just ludicrous.

Soon as we went behind we just don't have any idea what to do or how to come back.

Away record this season is an absolute shambles.

Wonder what Rooney's away record is here? It'll make for grim reading.

Also thought Lawrence looked like he couldn't care less tonight.

Cannot defend them after that second half.

A little break will do Bielik good. Ravel also had a very good game last night so deserves to keep his place in the team

Even if Bielik is half fit, can barely move and one of his legs has fell off

He is still country miles ahead of anything we have in the squad.

Can't be resting our best players I'm afraid. Plus he played 45 minutes the other day and after Saturday there is no game for a week, so plenty of time for him to rest.

Don't see what Morrison offers us at all. Since he's been here infact.

Slows the game down, passes backwards. Quite often has a pass on but doesn't get his head up. Not sure if anyone remembers but he did exactly that against Cardiff. We had a break on. There was a simple pass inside, he checked, pass was on but he stopped and passed it backwards.

I agree with another poster about Sibley. These 3 games where Lawrence had been out he should have played all 3.

He was poor on the first half against Millwall (but so was everyone) then he gets subbed off and over the next 2 games played about 10 minutes. Not quite sure how he's supposed to get any sort of momentum and consistency if that happens. Even young Malcolm is coming on before him.

  11. So the administrators have a discussion with the EFL this afternoon and a matter of hours later John Percy has an article out.

The fact that they are so obviously telling the press what is going on in private meeting is absolutely disgusting and sums them up.

Simon Stone saying that we've told the EFL are have funding for the season and Percy saying it's funding till the end of March.

Earlier on it was that we would be announcing a preferred bidder shortly.

I'm sick to the back teeth of this now.

  12. I didn't think the ref was that bad last night. Bar missing the most obvious foul in the world on Davies.

I didn't think it was a foul on Ebosele. There was a pass on inside but as per he dallied on it, lost the ball and rather desperately went down like he'd been shot.

Davies and their striker were both at it before the ball came in and he got the better of him.

We've lost the last 2 away games 1-0 and have had a combined 2 shots on targets in those games.

If you do that you won't win.

    We just aren't good enough.
