  1. I've said it since he's been here. He's a 1 in 8 player.

Will turn up, have a decent game, score a goal and then you won't see him again. Every season.

To make him captain was bizarre. Admittedly Davies & Jagielka weren't signed at that point. But Shinnie was here. So at that time I would have given it to Shinnie.

We never hear from him either. After a poor game or a difficult defeat, it's the same players who front up. Curtis Davies, Graeme Shinnie and last night it was Jagielka.

Davies had posted something on Instagram.

That's a captain. A captain is someone who says, lads this was awful today, we're gonna get some stick here. I'll be the one that fronts up and faces the media.

    Never ever does.

His contract is up in the summer. The sooner he's out of this football club. The better.

We're a better team without him in it.

  2. Let's be honest we're down. We all know it.

Our only hope is to get points back with the appeal, a new owner and a few new players in January.

Tonight was a shambles. Bar hitting the bar at the end, I never once felt like we were going to score at all.

Quite a few times we've got full backs in space overlapping and someone decides to have a shot from 25-30 yards instead.

Morrison did it twice, with Byrne in acres of space down the right.

Sibley when he can on. Had Ebosele and Buchanan in acres and decide to shoot.

Morrison doesn't offer us anything at all. Spends most the game playing as the third centre half. Suspended on Saturday and I think we'll play better without him.

Anybody notice captain Tom today? Said it a hundred times. Goes missing far too often.

The defending for that second goal was a complete disgrace and we deserved to lose that game based on that alone.

I think we will have the minus twelve points given back to us but then we will be slapped with the minus nine for alledged financial irregularities (EFL don't want to be shown as completely pathetic do they) making us have 3 extra points tally. This is going to be very interesting in the next couple of weeks especially if we can get four points from our next two games! UTR

Even if it is that. I think we'd stay up. Get to January in and around it, get some players in and we'll be fine.

I don't know the ins and outs. But is the points deduction for breaking FFP set at 9 points?

I was under the impression that it was determined by how much you have exceeded the limits by.

So for example a club that has gone over FFP by £5 million would not face the same points deduction as a club that exceeded it by £20 million.

Also on Mel's interview with Radio Derby they asked him that if they resubmitted the accounts would it mean that we would have fallen foul of FFP. To which Mel answered yes. Then I'm sure he said it would have equated to a 4 point deduction considering how much they exceeded FFP by.

Or have I completely dreamt this?

  4. I might be going mad, but I really do think we will get some if not all of the 12 points back.

    1. That article in the sun (I know it's the sun) on how the EFL are looking at changing the rules on administration. Essentially so that any unsuccessful appeals will be met with a further 6 point deduction.

It seems to me that the EFL are very worried (they can't appeal the outcome either way) that we have a very strong case. They also know that if we do get this decision overturned and points back this will set a precedent. Other clubs in the championship will see this and enter administration themselves knowing that they would also not get a points deduction. By threatening them with a further 6 points for an unsuccessful appeal they are hoping this would deter any other club from entering administration.

    2. The administrators were here a good few weeks before lodging the appeal. It's not like they've come in and done it instantly. They have clearly gone through the accounts with a fine toothcomb and spoke to lawyers before deciding to move forward with the appeal. They clearly feel we have a strong case.

    3. As we all know money is scarce. Yet the administrators have spent around £300k on this appeal. If for one second they thought that there was no chance at all of being successful with it, they wouldn't have done it.

  5. First time really this season that he does deserve some criticism.

I'm fairly certain we played 442 today with no wingers and our 2 strikers on the bench.

Sibley isn't a winger and it looked like Morrison was there first half. With Jozwiak and Lawrence up front.

Clearly after 15 minutes this wasn't working and at 2-0 down he should have made a change.

    Amazed CKR didn't start.

Second half we had absolutely no width and nothing in midfield.

The main tactic today seemed to be hoof it to Forsyth and hope for the best.

We were lucky not to be 5 down at half time.

Second half was marginally better but probably cos Blackburn knew the game was won.

Offered absolutely nothing second half either. No midfield.

Worst I've seen us for a long long time.

Absolutely huge game on Wednesday now.

Morrison- 4 I genuinely thought he was so so poor. Terrible decision making at times especially when we’d have the chance to counter. Slowed down numerous attacks for us and made the wrong decision too many times. When he went down to win the pen I rolled my eyes. Think he’s quite overrated and not surprised he was subbed off.

    This.

    Absolutely spot on.

In the first half when they ballsed a corner up. Counter on and he stopped.

Doesn't get his head up enough either and if he does he looks one way. Byrne in acres on a few occasions tonight and he never looked up.

Also should have put Lawrence in on goal in the second half but held on to the ball so so long.

Really not sure what he is bringing to the team at the minute

But he's infuriating to watch. Slows the game down so so much.

  7. So so angry after that.

Those players give absolutely everything. Can't ask for more.

But I'm sorry you cannot legislate for goalkeeping like that.

We were so in control, didn't look in trouble. Not a save to make. It was a nothing ball in. Why on earth has he come for that? As soon as he did you just knew.

We have to work so hard to get anything from a game. Stuff like that is just complete stupidity.

Said it before with Roos. A good goalkeeper gets you 10-15 points a season and a bad one costs you.

We've got 2 goalkeepers who are dross and will cost us time and time again.

Well first of all I think Derby (second highest attendance in the Championship in 2019-20) were most affected by covid than any other team (the team with highest attendance Leeds were promoted to Premier League so got access to a new  money tree) . Many other bigger teams were in receipt of parachute money (which did not reduce during covid) so were also much less affected. Smaller teams not affected so much as they were not relying on big gates anyway, so had smaller budgets. Also of course there is the covid loan that (for disputed reasons)  was denied Derby but not most other teams.

secondly, the club was up for sale, and yes that was probably because Morris was running out of money due to historic overspending. But like I say how do we know that a buyer would not have been found if covid had not come along?

    All valid points.

But these clubs with parachute payments have much much bigger wage bills than ours, the club's coming up would have increased their wage bill and spent money in transfers.

Yes we could have been affected more based on our attendances being sold high and how heavily reliant on ticket sales we are. But so is everyone.

Why aren't Forest in administration because of Covid? Same length of time in this League, no parachute payments, big attendances. No sign of them going into administration.

  9. Wayne Rooney stating what most of us on here already know that Mel Morris is a scumbag.

Never ever been sure about him from the time he went into the dressing room under Clement.

Whatever points deductions are coming, take them all now.

Barring a miracle, league one is inevitable. We don't want any more points deductions when we are there.

First thing any new owner needs to do is give Rooney a new deal and tell him to take us back up.

Didn't really take this para in from the EFL statement earlier.

""In any disciplinary matter, the EFL will always consider whether it can be concluded by way of an Agreed Decision as per EFL Regulation 85. An Agreed Decision, which is subject to independent ratification, is deemed appropriate in circumstances which justify the conclusion of an effective and equitable resolution without a referral to a Disciplinary Commission."

Who would do the 'independent ratification'?

    Probably Rick Parry's mum

Not neccesley mate if it happens 2 wins were back out of trouble.

Personal If I was mel I be saying see you in court you cant make it stick.

    I admire your optimism mate.

But we've won 2 out of our last 22 league games

  12. Just out of interest. Does anyone know what free transfers are out there?

Just trying to think of who we could potentially bring in that might make a difference.

Only 2 I can think of is Robbie Brady and Andy Carroll

  13. Sat watching SS news to watch the goals from tonight.

Started off saying breaking news. Derby close to agreeing a points deduction with the EFL.

All they said was it's less than what the EFL wanted originally.

But have not confirmed what this is.

  14. Hopefully the Daily Mail are just regurgitating what John Percy tweeted last week.

Can't understand how we've gone from not accepting 9 points and either coming to a compromise or fighting it to just rolling over and accepting it.

    Surely we haven't?

9 points would make us 7 off relegation. Almost need mid table form to get out of that, which we dont have the squad depth for really.

Still, we'd only be 3 points behind them tossers from up the 52.

  15. Great point.

Not his biggest fan at all.

But credit where credit is due. Kelle Roos was outstanding tonight.

    Davies and Jagielka immense.

Dylan Williams didn't look out of place either. Good performance from the lad.

Not really gonna criticise the front 3 because as an attacking threat we were non existent.

1st half bar the Davies clearance off the line they didn't really trouble us.

How we got out that second half. Only God knows.

    Great point.

To a man the effort was absolutely superb and that's all we can ask.

Was the best player on the pitch v Forest when he had to go off with an injury.

One game in 6 that he's turned up in.

Which basically sums up Lawrence since he's been here.

    Where's he been since?

There will be another game soon where he may turn up, play well, score a goal, and then disappear again for 8-10 games.

Brum deserved to win the game, but was that the german ref from Wednesday ?

The ref didn't give us much admittedly.

But the worst decision he made all night was when Morrison lost the ball, handballed it to stop the bloke running through and the ref gave a free kick to us.

Morrison had already been booked and it was about one of the most obvious yellow cards you'll see.

So we were lucky he was incompetent then too.
