  1. Completely out of his depth.

How many games have we played well in this season? Barnsley first half, Charlton first half. Struggling to remember more.

Teams know how to stop us and Rosenior doesn't know how to come up with the answers.

It was clear after Plymouth that out midfield wasn't working. Crying out for Knight there. He's not even put Oduroh on the bench to give himself the option to move Knight during the game.

That's Shrewsbury, Fleetwood and Lincoln which could yield 2 points. Nowhere near good enough.

Says the other week that nobody is guaranteed to start, mentioning players like Hourihane etc. Said he's not afraid to play these young lads, Oduroh and Rooney after they've done well in cup games. Yet the following game they don't make the bench.

Bird is woeful at the moment. Absolutely woeful. Doesn't bring anything to this side at all. But continues to play.

More than twice the number of Rams fans have voted not to call off Saturday’s game. It seems like showing Respect is a thing of the past. Everyone is entitled to their opinion and perhaps an  “Away day bender”  is more important.

Nobody is saying an away day bender is more important.

Thousands of people will be attending football matches this weekend. Not every one is on an away bender or a bender of any kind.

These thousand of people could be observing a minutes silence, players wear black armbands and sing God Save The Queen as a way of paying their respects.

Cancelling football and those thousands will just be at home doing nothing? I'm not sure how that is paying respect?

You saw at West Ham yesterday the fans singing God Save The Queen. How powerful and respectful that was.

Children are at school, people are at work. Whilst it's a very sad day in British history life has to go on.

Whether you’re a royalist or. Republican, by living in the UK we are all choosing to live in a monarchy. The country’s sovereign of over 70 years has just died; doesn’t she deserve a few days of small sacrifice as a mark of respect?

She most definitely does deserve a huge mark of respect.

I don't think cancelling football games is really a mark of respect.

Playing the games with players on the halfway line singing God save the Queen with full stadiums joining in is a much more fitting mark of respect.

Ok I’ll going to say it. Why should all sport be cancelled?

Fans at matches can show their respect with a minutes silence and players can wear arm bands.

We don’t need sport to be cancelled because of her passing.

Honestly - are there any fans on here who think sport should be cancelled? If so, please tell me why.

I don't understand why it needs to be cancelled.

Are just supposed to stay at home and not do anything?

It's looking highly likely that all football will be called off.

Test match play tomorrow is cancelled. EFL meeting today, as there are game scheduled for tomorrow. Not looking good for the weekend games tbh.

That doesn't surprise me with it being so immediately after.

It'll come down to what the government want to do.

But if they cancel games Saturday, Tuesday and next weekend you have to wonder when they'll get played. Fixtures are already congested this season when you consider we've got the world cup in the middle of it.

oh ffs i finally got an away ticket. This would be her revenge for my republicanism

I don't know how it all works. I've seen people say there will be not football at all until after the funeral which would be 10 days after her passing. But I'm not sure.

I can see it coming as we're pulling up to park in Morecambe.

Having watched the goals back, the 1st is so lucky, a bit like Barnsleys...their 2nd is clearly offside & their 3rd Cashin clearly makes a mistake.

On another day, playing that poorly & we still win comfortably vs a team who is meant to be a top end team.

Lets hope we learn our lessons from yesterday. Smith needs to come in when fit, although I dont think that will be next week, Morecambe away we have to be winning given their start.

The first is lucky I agree. But it comes from Forsyth heading to the edge of his own box. Which you should never do.

  8. After having a bit of time to digest yesterday I'm hoping we can turn this into a positive.

If we had hung on to win that yesterday it would have papered over several cracks. Sometimes you need something like this as a huge wake up call and kind of a shock to the system.

Obviously I hate losing and I hate to see us get beat, even more so after losing a two goal lead. But my overriding emotions yesterday and today was this team fully deserved what they got yesterday and hopefully it's opened Rosenior's eyes to some things that have been showing since game one imo but not so glaringly as yesterday.

Bird and Hourihane together doesn't work for me. Both left footed so the balance isn't right. I'd rather Bird play CDM on his own with Hourihane and someone else ahead of him in a 2. Bird is a class player and should be showing so much more than what he is at the minute. I'd like to see him come out the team for Smith and see what Smith can offer there.

I said at the start of the season that Thompson is not good enough yet. Too small, lightweight. Got bullied yesterday and his first thought is always to go backwards. Any attacking impetus we had yesterday went when he came on. I didn't understand it at the time, even more so after.

Oduroh at the very least has to make the bench. To give us the option to move Knight into midfield. Because we were crying out for him there yesterday. I'd be very tempted to chuck Oduroh in against Morecambe and play a midfield of Smith, Hourihane and Knight.

Hopefully Davies is back for Saturday we need him back in.

Days like yesterday were always gonna happen. Cannot afford to give teams that much space in midfield they were running through us.

It was coming though. Arguably the best we have played this season has been the first half at Charlton and possibly the same with Barnsley at home. But Peterborough we were poor and that win papered over cracks.

Like I say hopefully Rosenior has learnt a lot from yesterday because it's glaringly obvious to most.

Whilst I am fully behind Rosenior and really hope he gets the job full time and takes us up. I can see why he hasn't been given it full time yet. Because in my opinion we haven't been playing well in the main.

  9. So poor today from minute one. They should have gone in at half time winning but somehow we were 2 up.

Bird nowhere near it again today. I dare say if Smith was fit Bird wouldn't have played. We have better balance with a right footer and a left footer in there imo.

Didn't understand bringing Thompson on. I said it at the start of the season that he's nowhere near good enough yet. Not saying he won't be. But he's miles off.

Forsyth poor again. You learn pretty early on that you shouldn't head the ball to the edge of your own box, but he still did.

Cashin and Stearman weren't bad. Glaring error from Cashin for the winner but he's been outstanding.

I'd seriously think about playing Oduroh next week and moving Knight into midfield. This is why it was absolutely criminal we didn't bring a right back in. Not because Knight isn't playing well there but you miss him so much in midfield. I'm surprised Oduroh isn't on the bench so he has that option in a game.

Sibley poor when he came on too but can't be too critical cos he's been very good of late.

Morecambe next week and id go with this if Davies and Smith are back..

                    Wildsmith

    Oduroh Davies Cashin Roberts

               Smith   Hourihane

                       Knight

    NML.        Collins.     Barkhuizen

Plymouth are a good team at this level. We seem to have faced a few of them at home, rather than the some of the teams expected to be at the bottom. They have plenty of attacking options.

    Team for me:

Wildsmith, Knight, Stearman, Cashin, Roberts, Bird, Hourihane, Sibley, Dobbin, Barkhuizen, New signing

If we made a new signing tonight. You'd stick in them straight in up front over Mcgoldrick and Collins?

  11. If this is true I would imagine Rosenior has been unable to find a right back to bring in.

Knowing we're gonna miss Knight's quality in midfield this is the alternative to bringing in a right back.

I'm more than happy for Knight to play RB. The main reason I wanted a RB was because it would mean Knight can then play midfield.

But if we bring an attacking midfielder in who can run with the ball them I'm happy with that.

  12. Was wondering if someone could offer any advise please.

A friend of mine is away for the Lincoln game and has said I could use his away membership to get my son a ticket.

    My son is 10.

But obviously the away membership is for an adult.

Is it possible to get a child's away ticket using the adult away membership? Or does it only let you buy an adult ticket?

Is it just me that thinks the short period of time he came on against Shrewsbury he looks like a seriously good player?!

At times he was walking round their players and had a few neat turns/touches.

I think he will probably go on to be one of our best players this season.

I thought he made some great runs off the ball too.

Unfortunately for him, rather than play a ball over the top, or a ball through, Knight checked back and passed to Stearman.

When we get a RB we will have something different in midfield.

Hopefully McGoldrick will start to provide that but of magic around the box to break down these teams

Couldn't agree more mate. That's a massive reason why a right back is a must. Yes Knight can do a job, but he's a midfielder and that's where he should play.

I'm looking forward to Mcgoldrick getting fit. I think we'll see him come off the bench again on Saturday and then possibly get an hour in the cup.

  15. Just got back.

Massively frustrating game and it was one of those games that I was worried about in League One. When a team comes and parks the bus we don't seem to have a clue how to break them down and with the players we had out there we should have been able to.

The tactic was just side to side, didn't really move the ball with any speed which made it so easy for them to defend and close of the space. Everything Infront of the Shrewsbury back 4.

A few times we had chances to break, but the pass that would have set is away was poor. Hourihane, Collins and Mcgoldrick all guilty of that.

Knight at right back is not working. It took until the last minute for him to overlap and drive into the box. When Dobbin came on he kept making the runs but instead of putting a ball over the top for him to run on to, Knight checked back and passed it to Stearman.

We never once tried to play through the middle. I'm not really sure what we're doing with the midfield really. Our tactic was to get it out wide and that was it, when it didn't work one side, we'd pass back to Stearman/Cashin and then try again on the other side and all Shrewsbury did was run side to side. Too easy for them.

Barkhuizen maybe could have done better with his chance, the keeper did close the angle down well. Stearman should score that header and Sibley had a decent chance. But in the end we were lucky they didn't take that big chance at the end.

We need 3 more as a minimum really. A right back is an absolute must. To not sign one would be absolutely ridiculous on the basis that Knight "can do a job there" It's borderline ridiculous we haven't got one in yet cos we would have known Byrne was going ages ago.

We need something different in midfield, another centre forward and a winger for me.

Highly doubt we will get all of them, probably only bring in a couple more.

The early signs are positive, we should be sat here with 4 wins out of 4 and when teams like this come to Pride Park we'll run riot. It's a brand new group, which are 2 weeks behind everyone else who will get fitter and better the more they play.

    Up The Rams

Hopefully the striker to push Collins for a starting place ?

I can't think of who it could be at all. To be honest if we're only signing the keeper and one more I think we need a right back more than a striker.

We've got Collins, McGoldrick, Dobbin who can all play up there

Whoever this player is clearly plays for Coventry or Bristol City. Think people have mentioned Tyler Walker or George Tanner and they were both unused substitutes yesterday.

I really really hope it's not Waghorn.

  17. He new exactly what he was doing when he put that tweet out to be fair.

He would have known full well that most, if not all fans would have assumed he was on about a new signing.

So he got the attention he was after.

I would imagine he's either coming back to The Athletic or working somewhere else in the local press in some capacity.

Unless he pops out saying he's got a new job in a bank.
