I liked the pre Lampard/Cole/Cocu/Rooney world we lived in where the papers didn't bother writing about us.
No knock on Rooney because he's started this season a lot brighter than we looked last year but the sooner we can put an end to Celebrity DCFC the better

On Mel Morris:
When he sold Candy Crush in 2015, he became immensely cash rich as per the above. Whilst I do believe he has lost an uncomfortable amount of personal fortune in owning Derby County, in which time he has looked to spend above the means of the competition rules of his own volition. It would still make him an immensely rich person, who has absolutely no excuse for running the club as badly as he currently is.
What I would say to him, given half the chance, is clean up your own mess. The cutting of corners is doing nothing but to agitate fans and to downtools as significantly as he has, i.e. not pay the HMRC or other clubs, not to mention the fiasco with the ticket office, is absolutely inexcusable.
If he can get the club stable again, which isn't going to cost the world, and away from the 'crisis club' narrative then it will become a lot more attractive to potential buyers - real potential buyers and not blokes who know how to steal videos from TikTok or look fancy in a big white robe.
100% correct. He may have put a lot of his own money in already, and to a degree I commend that. But he can't just pull funding like that and watch us flounder. It's not like he's hard up.
How did he think this was going to play out if things didn't go to plan? Surely a businessman like him understands that ownership of the club was going to come with potentially high liabilities?

RamsTrust are a complete joke. Their words are not my words, and they don't really say anything of value anyway.
Ego driven posturing with no real purpose.
For all this talk of fan ownership, has anyone actually even attempted to put together the means? Or do they just write strongly-worded letters like a bunch of pensioners writing in to Channel 4?

Friday 10th September 8pm KO St Andrews Trillion Trophy Stadium
Some of the news and rumour about the club over the international break hasn't been pleasing. Let's try to get back to the football.
In a bizarre turn of events, it's when I'm watching Derby County play this season that I'm actually at my least disappointed with the club.
1-0 Shinnie FGS

I'm not here for this as it's the gf's graduation in Edinburgh. Derby games are often tight affairs and it's a cliche but form makes less of an impact in these types of games. They'll be hungry to get off the ground and we'll be wanting to build on the start we've made. I'd probably say a 1-1 draw if i had to guess as we just lack firepower going forward. The half decent form we've cobbled together has been built on the foundation of not conceding as opposed to scoring.
Sack that off

@Tombo why have you started this thread?
Only a league loss makes us change thread starter.
Unless, you’ve purposely not put “match day thread” as you know it’s not the official one?
If we lose, it’s all your fault, I hope your willing to take that chance, I’m not angry, I’m just disappointed.
Now I've never known this to be the case? This is just a senseless attack on my character at this stage

Saturday 28th August, 12:30 KO, Pride Park Stadium
I've never made a matchday thread in all my years on the forum. Maybe it's not the time to make my debut but don't deny me this one
We haven't beaten them since October 2017. That was 3 managers ago. This has got to be a win, especially the way they are playing
I will scream if Sibley doesn't start.
What else can I say? In all possibility, the biggest game we will play this season. Its definitely the first one I looked for on the fixture list.
Anyone nervous yet?

He's beginning to earn my respect.
He's been pitched into an absolute shitshow of a club, and although I think that was always his intention (to take control), the way he's gone about his business in circumstances he couldn't have envisaged is noteworthy.
Yeah agreed. Like most people I wasn't his biggest fan at the end of last season but he's worked tirelessly to make the best of the situation he is in.

Watched the short highlights as the (membership) long highlights aren't up yet. Thought at the time the ref wasn't going to give that pull on Baldock, he'd played on ffs! Not as poor a ref as the Peterboro one but still iffy at times I thought.
He got to the right call in the end, which is rare for refs at this level. 9 times out of 10 they seem to think they have to call it within half a second of the incident. Most refs in that situation would have just stuck with their gut instinct and played on and took the flak later. He let play continue for a few seconds while he consulted the assistant who had a different angle, and then gave it. I have to give props for that

When I think about Stan now, I think of the nerveless Journaliste bravely covering England games abroad.
Not the woman hitting, sex addicted dogger of Cannock Chase.

Can we please retire the Collymore song forever? I was in nappies when he played for Forest and barely in school when during his short-lived Leicester career, and I can't imagine many of the fans there even really know who he is.
I promise you, nobody cares about Collymore in 2021. Please drop it

Kamil is really unlucky there to be honest. Be a critic of him, fine, but its a good run, amazing control and then a good shot. He can't buy a goal at the minute

I can't really blame those who have lost their desire to watch us play but I've got to say it hasn't been this interesting for years and I've no intention of walking away at this point while things are as interesting as they are.
I love the drama, positive or negative. It's what the game is all about for me

He was being kicked in his side!
It's our standard poo defensive tactics at fault again.
He got booked for a dive, and then handballing when he didn't get the FK and you know that

Let's not forget where that came from in the first place, Sibley's immaturity. This is why you just can't rely on the guy to keep his head
Then it's just pathetic defending from there

Jozwiak starting for Poland
Of course wishing him the best, as I'm far greater a Derby fan than an England one.
But I've read a lot in the past amongst Derby fans about him always playing well for Poland? But a quick search of his name on Twitter and the "translate" function indicates that Polish fans are not very happy with him.
Apparently he "can't defend"??? Wouldn't know anything about that I'm afraid... ?
