Win, lose or draw one thing is certain
Nathan Byrne is going to home and have a little cry. He'll have nightmares about Grady Diangana for months.

It's part of his cunning plan

Very rare for this to be the case with us at the moment but we've grown into the game here. Looked really scary early on but we seem to have changed something here

Roos claiming these high balls and clawing them away. I mean it's functional and it sort of clears the danger but it's not a convincing punch clear. I can see why he doesn't inspire confidence in sections of the fanbase but it's a strange one...he's got so much better at dealing with them crosses but he's such a gangly awkward guy he makes me absolutely cack my pants at least 5 times a game
Like I said, it's functional though. Just about does the job

Seem to have the right ideas when we can get the ball down but we can't handle WBA when they've got it and especially balls going into the box

Don't like to be negative but we could be in real trouble tonight looking at this opening 10 mins

Sort of enjoying reading that Hughton made 10 signings and is being given the excuse that he hasn't got squad depth as the reason they are struggling.
Humorously, I read earlier "Hughton can only call upon Lewis Grabban and Lyle Taylor for the centre forward position".
Oh dear, I am very sorry to hear you just have the two double-figure capable strikers. My heart bleeds.
Look, we got ourselves into our own mess and that's why we can't sign anyone, but squad depth is not an excuse for any team below us in the table I'm afraid. If we're above you,l and you're trying to say you don't have enough players, hang your head in shame.

I think he's done a massive amount of growing as a manager already and I think he does a great job of preparing the team for games. Results and performances aren't perfect but I can't think of a game so far this year or for much of last year where we looked caught out by the opposition or what they were going to do (not the same as making an error, I'm looking bigger picture style of play stuff) which has been the case at Derby for years.
His understanding of the game is underrated and he's going to be a top manager.
That said...its not been all that fantastic. But he is the least of our problems

This is all because I did a poor job with the matchday threads for the last two games. My mistake

We don't seem to understand some of the obvious basics of defending. We constantly just tackle, dispossess, kick the ball away from their players. But the problem is we have no semblance of how we actually win the ball back.
Sibley isn't the only one, but he doesn't need to tackle there. Get goalside of him, block him off, get a better angle to win the ball back

Is it me or have we not laid a glove on them for about an hour?
Defending aside, how are we so inept going forward when we started so brightly?

Here's an interesting fact for you
Fouls made by Birmingham: 9
Fouls made by Derby: 1Have a guess which side has had the only booking of the game
Hmm...yeah but Shinnie deserved that booking in fairness

Refereeing is a joke and inexplicably Don Goodman has fully gone out to bat for this absolute clown

Need to just get to half time at just 1 here. Think we have a chance if we can get settled again and push back on them.

Roos wants to get in at half time and tear some shreds off Buchanan

He just got caught on grealishs hairband, the big jessie... ?
Please consider that this sort of comment is potentially homophobic.
Lots of reasons not to like Grealish, his "non-masculine" choice of headgear is not a valid one

Joz getting a talking too.
Not sure what's being said but I think Sousa isn't too impressed with his attacking output. He's very busy tied up with Grealish (and doing a decent job) and can't really get going in the other direction

England: *plays any Eastern European team*
Commentary: Very combative team! England will know they've been in a fight tonight!

Jozwiak trying to break Grealish in half. I'm rooting for England but it's hard to be mad at him
After all it is Jozwiak
And after all...it is Grealish...

Just for info as well, I'm not posting this to lay into Kamil. I like the kid and hope he succeeds here and for his country. And I also think he's starting to look like he is improving for us in our last few games.
Just think it is useful to gauge what opinion is of him in the national side.
