No doubt they’ll tell us soon enough when we can order tickets for the Huddersfield match and the bar code on the tickets will allow us through the turnstiles in the normal way.

How you can say "no doubt" with anything at DCFC right now is beyond me.

I have read that. I'm sure Jim has read that. Why is the situation crystal clear for every other club in the league except us?

Jim Wheeler from the Rams Trust who was singularly underwhelming and is obviously unable to read.  His point was that, as a season ticket holder from last year (20/21) he didn't know from the club how or whether he would be able to get tickets to go to matches because the club hadn't told him.

You can argue whether it is the correct decision or not but you only have to read the club's statement to understand how you can get a ticket for the matches and which order they are going to be sold in.  The fact it is being done online and tickets printed at home means that they can concertina the process into a much shorter timescale

You obviously are unable to listen. The point is that they have told 20/21 ST holders that they will get their free ST for this year, and that their current cards will not work. Yet there is no sign of a new ST card being sent out yet, a week and a half away from the game.

As things stand, no fans will be able to actually get through a turnstile

  3. Absolutely none of you actually know what Shay does/did day by day so to speculate on his abilities as a coach is pretty baseless, just because we had a bad season last year. The buck stops with the manager with regards to results. His coaches do what he tells them to do.

I would defend the Athletic actually, I have been meaning to re-subscribe because Conway genuinely puts stuff out there about us that you can't get anywhere else. He's often the first to break stories too.

They have some amazing journalists full stop.

Maybe somewhat off topic here...They have a very long article on there today covering the story of the entire "55 years of hurt" which I've found a great way to get ready for tomorrow's game.

The entire "England National Team" story from 66 to today and it just reminds you why the crop of players we have now are so special. They have as much talent as any England team we've ever had but a lot of attributes we've not seen from an England team in half a century.

Very much worth the money imo

  5. It is also worth mentioning that similarly to the way that the mainstream national press work with the government, access is everything.

I imagine the Derby Telegraph have a direct line to the club...but they wouldn't do for much longer if they published stories that the club were not ready to be seen by public eyes yet.

Therefore they are unfortunately reduced to mouthpieces for the club.

But I suppose they say that they are given accurate and correct information from the horses mouth, and they are free to report, comment and analyse that information however they see fit. So in their defence that is how their role has changed with reference to the club.

I think we all know when DCFC will release the accounts.

    15:01 on 7th August!

The accounts to be read out loud on the PA system at half time on the 7th. Would love that

How many clubs, when being purchased, have 14 first team players, 1 of which has an ACL injury and the another has ongoing issues which has written off the best part of 2 years of football.

They are going to need to chuck a few quid at it to get us competitive.

The business is extremely lean. There are debts, but we are a good prospect for a potential owner nonetheless.

How many clubs have this little deadwood while simultaneously having a few sellable assets in our young players? Plus the owner is desperate to sell and the club is getting a worse press every single day.

Someone who knows their football and their business knows that we are a very good prospect. A low level Championship club fighting off relegation, with low wage costs but high quality Premier League facilities?

We have the platform to climb the table again, if we can very quickly put this mess behind us

  8. I think he came in to be Waghorn's experienced backup and since sinking down the table it sounds like he's up for the challenge.

Not to say that he wasn't motivated before, but he strikes me as someone that thrives on having something to prove and a bit of a challenge. The bit in the Rams TV interview where he said he looked at the table and said to himself "we can defo do this" just made me think he absolutely thrives on this. He's not happy being where we are but he's pumped up to help change things. At this stage of his career he always has to find new challenges.

I'll read more about Rams TV later but I'll ask here for now.

    1. How much is it?

    2. What do you get for your money? (U23 games live, 1st team matches 'delayed' etc)

    3. What do overseas Rams get that UK based ones don't?

    4. Is it PC friendly or just laptop, phone and ipad?

    5. Does one subscription allow you to watch on different platforms?

    £110 a year

First team matches not already televised will be streamed live for overseas fans only. Also essentially everything that the old ramsplayer had.

    Live streaming, as above

Good on all devices. My laptop, my phone, my tablet and my dads PC all work fine with it.

Yep. Sign up for the account and watch it on any device.

  10. Fury would be a very different test for AJ. Going to be hard to get inside him with Fury having the size and superior reach. He's going to have to work hard to unlock the door with Fury I think, otherwise he'll just be jabbed to death and Fury wins on decision.

I agree but my only exception is Martin was kind of a handout, the guy he fought collapsed with knee ligaments gone after a round or two. It was a total gift, Martin was always losing to AJ even if AJ had a bad night. Martin was lucky to even get a title shot for a vacant belt against an average opponent. Breazeale has since shown he has an awesome chin against Ugonoh so the fact AJ did that to him tells me that AJ's power is supreme in the division. Fury, Wilder, Tyson or whoever you look at had just as steady if not easier building fights than AJ. You need to balance learning the pro game and making sure you don't throw your guy in the deep end too quick.

Intrigued to see how Hughie fairs against Parker, it's a massive step up for him but it opens up a lot of big fights if he does it. Wanted Haye to win just for all the potential HW possibilities. Fury, Fury, AJ, Haye, Wilder & Parker. Plus loads of fringe contenders moving up.Think Wlad is past it and will be retired by AJ.

Yeah he was a handout, but he was in that opportunity, end of story. He may have been about on par, perhaps only marginally worse, than the guys AJ was beating before.

But yeah, exactly right that most guys have easier runs than AJ did early on. They used to say early on that he needs to be tested with someone who can take him the distance and nobody can. It's going to have to take Wlad to do it, and if he can't, then nobody can. If he knocks out Wlad, old or not, then we'll just have to accept that every fight he has will end in a KO one way or another. There's probably no safer and more careful fighter in the division than Klitschko.
