Massive game this is, I’d take a point 100% just got the feeling we’re due a defeat, we haven’t been playing great but picking up results and our recent results at oakwell aren’t good, think the first 25/30 mins will be crucial, last season it cost us, have to go and do what teams do to us here, give away nothing let the game settle and grow into it!

All we need is a decent ref!

Want to see us playing our preferred  system regardless of what we think the oppo will do. Give players the same job to do game after game and most will do much better than when they get new instructions each week. We’ve got a strong enough squad to play our own way. 3 at the back please and make it decent to watch . Give Ward and Wilson a start. Give Bradley the chance to keep improving. If Sibley is to be our super sub, give him time enough

play it fast and short with lots of movement. nil something.

Unfortunately we do not have one it is

ROBERT MADLEY ......the man who could not wait to send Chris Martin of at Burnley incorrectly never forgiven him for that

He also sent Blackstock off , for an “Elbow” on Keogh. A game we won 1-0. The only sure thing is -that he loves the limelight .

Wildsmith, Nelson, Bradley, Cashin, Nyambe, Elder, Adams, Bird, Sibley, Barkhuizen, NML. Can't see us not going wingbacks. Would be tempted with Sibley LWB with Thompson in the middle, too.

Pivitol day in our season. Barnsley will be up for it and it appears they may have sold out. We need to start on the front foot otherwise it's going to be a long slog. Pitch may also come into play with all this rain. Heart says 2 1 win. Head says a draw but we must NOT lose. Wish i was going. Good luck to all that are.

PS. Methinks Gayle will start his goal scoring for us in this match.UTR!

The trouble is, that system is also flawed. That great team under SM1 played great football sweeping all before them, or so we'd like to remember. What actually happened, was that we'd come up against a manager who set his team up to play against us and would snuff out our attacking force and SM1 didn't have a plan B. Although we won a majority of our games, it wasn't enough to beat the 2 teams who finished above us.

This is my memory.

And over time, some of the mediocre teams started to work out how to nullify us too.

Hmm. Under SM1, we had exciting, attacking football but we were found out and teams worked out how to nullify us. We didn’t change, just carried on and started losing and drawing more. We need to change tactics according to the opposition.

I'm not sure about that unless the message on their website 17 hours ago excludes visiting supporters (perhaps it does). Either way, it hadn't sold out as at yesterday afternoon.

"Saturday's game will see at least 16,500 fans come through the turnstiles".

Isn't the capacity something like 23,500?

I remember Steve Claridge was doing the highlights punditry on the telly. The main TV man was saying although Madley got the main decision badly wrong, perhaps he was influenced by Chris Martin's "repeated fouling" earlier in the game? Madley had blown up something ridiculous like 5 or 6 times against Martin in the first half. Claridge went through all of those decisions and kept saying "it's not a foul, it's not a foul". Referees like Atwell are clearly incompetent, but I've never seen one go into a game with such an agenda as Madley did for that match. Should have been banned.

But this time we’re in div1. I’d hope that these players playing consistently well will indeed sweep all before them. Granted, we need Adams to stay fit …

We had many incompetent refs over the years but this one was biased and wanted to send off Martin early in the game. Collins wouldn't have had a hope with this ref. This ref shouldn't be allowed to ref us again.
