Barnsley win their’s and we’re 4th. Well done to Warne though for beating perhaps the worst team we’ve ever played in a league match though. That aged well, they're not the worst team we've ever played in a league match now, surely Bristol Rovers have now taken over that mantel.................................until the next team we beat? Chester40
Everything you'd expect from a Warne master class today.. 3 solid as a rock defenders. Athletic wing backs. Adams winning all the loose balls. Everyone harrying them to win the ball back. Using width and hitting them with pace. When we are bad we are really bad. But credit is due when we play like that. Kernow
14 minutes ago, Caerphilly Ram said: Could we be on for a new record? Hopefully it's not the only record we break this season. Our record number of points in a season with 3 points per win is 85. 14 points needed from 9 games, so 1.55 ppg. We're currently on track for 89 points (1.94 ppg). When we were last promoted from this tier of English football, we managed 84 points. 89 points would be a good achievement for Warne even if it doesn't end up being enough for a top 2 place. Cocu was appointed by Vitesse little over a year ago, in September 2022, in what was his first job in football since parting company with the Rams in November 2020. The former Barcelona, PSV Eindhoven and Vitesse midfielder guided the team to 10th in the Dutch top flight last season but leaves them bottom of the table this term, having managed only eight points from 12 matches. Cocu took the decision to step down from his post after the 3-1 home defeat to SC Heerenveen on Saturday. The club said in a statement: "The former footballer of the Arnhem team took over in September 2022 from then head coach Thomas Letsch, who left for VfL Bochum. Under the leadership of Cocu, the Arnhem team still achieved an impressive tenth place in the Eredivisie after a very difficult season.
