This is it. This is how Warne want us to play. He said so just today. Hope all the Rosenior haters are happy. This makes it sound like Derby fans called for his head and hounded Rosenior out of the club. David Clowes saved the club from going under, appointed Rosenior as interim coach, then made a decision to appoint Paul Warne and his staff as the management team he wanted to take the club forward, relieving Rosenior of his interim role. That’s it, that’s what happened. Some people preferred Rosenior’s style of football to Warne’s, fair enough, but he’s gone and Warne is now the manager. The owner gave him a 4 year contract, presumably because he’s got more patience and trust in the process than some of us fans seem to, with his theory being that Warne has proven his ability to get teams out of this league. Todays result could have been better, could also have been worse, some of the reactions to that seem extreme to me. The season isn’t over yet, there’s plenty to play for. But Warne has actually said in his interview today that "generally speaking, they played how I want them to play". This is how he wants us to play. This is how he wants us play. He wants us to play like this for the next four years. So anyone who was happy with Warne replacing Rosenior must surely be happy now that we're, generally speaking, playing exactly how Warne wants us to play, rather than how Rosenior wanted us to play. I however was not happy with the management change, and I am not happy that, generally speaking, we are going to be struggling to draw at places like Burton for the next four years. Ambitious
I didn't watch the second half, so can't comment on that but seems like we left too much on the table. It seems we're on the brink of being a good team but still tripping ourselves up. I think that's what this season will prove to be in the end. Where have I criticised Rosenior and where have I praised Warne? I’m just not sure how you’re attributing the change in manager that occurred to the fan base, the owner took a decision and that’s where we are. Could we be doing better? Yeah definitely. Could we be doing worse? Yep, yes we could. As for my own happiness I’ll clarify for you that I’m happy to have a club and team to support, and I’m realistic that we have no divine right to walk this league, especially after the state the club was left in and the restrictions within which we have to operate currently. I’d prefer us to be winning more games, but at least we’re not losing them. I’m patient in my views and whilst there are frustrations in how we’re not scoring or winning as much as I’d like, I see no reason to panic or despair….just yet. archram, Miggins, BOB BIGGS and 8 others 5

Recent two-times champions. Unlucky to lose an FA Cup semi to Man Utd. Cheated out of (potential) Euro glory. Managed at one point by the greatest man-manager club football has ever known. This is not that Derby County. This is the new Derby County. Recently almost skint enough to become extinct. Embargoed. Under trading restrictions. Relegated due to points deductions, not on-pitch performances/results. Literally brought back to life thanks to a generous benefactor. Not only is it a bonus to be drawing at "Burton f***ing Albion", I'd venture to say we're lucky to be playing them. Don't let the stadium, the attendances, and the history fool you... we are not a big club any more. Recent results and league position clearly define that. This is who we now are... whether we accept it ot not. The record books show it... and will continue to do so for eternity! We have to almost start again, but unlike 1884, there's a hell of a lot more competition to put aside, before we become a big club once again. Here's to the future... and a divine right to be beating the likes of "Burton f***ing Albion". ? The Scarlet Pimpernel
I suppose for me the issue is style of play. We are committed it seems to kick and rush football whereas to me that is not what I want to see nor is it progressive. If we get promoted with it do we suddenly change our style and bin off Warnes own players for more fluidity or do we stick with it and presumably do a Rotherham and get relegated a couple of times? The shame is Rosenoir had these same players playing at a technical level far higher than they are showing now. It's true we couldn't score which caused us problems particularly away from home but that failing is still generally with us. Ramos
Next year is our year for me. Anything we do this year is just a bonus. To be 7th after the summer we endured I think is impressive outside of the context of how we are playing. Do I prefer warnes style over roseniors? Probably not but in reality I’d probably like something in between both. We are a league one club atm, getting out the league is more important to me than how we play out of it. Whether this style does get us out of it remains to be seen. archram, Ramarena, Miggins and 6 others 3

I feel your pain but what I would say is that the balance of the side still isn’t right and that we won’t see great football until it is. We started with Knight at RB and Forsyth at LB. Both could support the attack ably. Whilst Sibley can do the same he’s not really a defender. Out best attack is a fit NML, Barkhuisen, McGoldrick and Collins. But that really only allows for two conventional midfield players. Bird would normally be one but he’s under a lot of pressure when he is paired with Hourihane. We therefore don’t transition well from defence to attack and that leads to hoofing. When we defend we look thin in midfield because Hourihane can’t run or tackle to the levels we need. I think this is what shapes the team. Warne is desperate for reinforcements. Caerphilly Ram, HorsforthRam, Miggins and 2 others 3

jono
I suppose I am lucky because I didn’t see the game but some of gloom seems misplaced. This the league we are in. Burton are in good form at home and we got something from the game, away from home. The value of this is whether we can now win our next home game. Not a great day but we are in the mix and no worse off than 2 days ago. The window opens soon. It won’t take much to tip the balance. We’ve got an imbalanced squad of players, round pegs/square holes and all that. If you added a midfielder like Bielik or Burton’s number 12 into this side, along with a specialist right back/wing back like Byrne you would suddenly see a more balanced side that theoretically would do very well in this league. I appreciate football purists might want Rosenior’s approach over Warne’s more direct one, ideally I’d want something that matched the best parts of both, probably akin to that brilliant season under McClaren. I just try to keep perspective that for now we are not in an ideal situation and will judge where we are further down the line. ? jono, Ramarena, Miggins and 1 other
Dean (hick) Saunders
When the PW Derby are playing at their best, I think it’s good to watch and on balance likely to get us competing for promotion. We are missing a couple of players to be able to hit the level more consistently. Probably it should be realistic that we can get these types of players either Jan or summer. I personally thought that to play the Rooney/Rosenior method well enough, we need to improve/replace more players and these players may not be obtainable as the teams that play this method well are at higher level than we are. jimtastic56
Went to the game, result was fair. But us away fans could have done a lot more. Instead of spending 45 minutes baiting a bloke on crutches who took offence to around 100 Rams fans being in the home end. (Would we be happy?).
