RadioactiveWaste Posted July 26, 2022 Posted July 26, 2022 Hopefully we'll be looking back next may thinking how this thread was the start of out L1 invincibles season. OK, it might not be, but, hopefully you're starting a fair few threads throughout August. EtoileSportiveDeDerby, DesertRam, Nishfan and 1 other 2 2

Rev Posted July 26, 2022 Posted July 26, 2022 A thankful return to meat and veg league action, and the dawn of a new era for Derby County Football Club. New League, new Manager, new players, but thankfully the same old club that's existed since 1884. Thank you David Clowes, you do know what it means to us, and in our darkest hour you stepped forward and enabled us to start believing again. A fully sold out away end and the possibility of a 30,000+ crowd roaring on the two teams come 3pm Saturday. Oxford, managed by ex MK Dons boss Karl Robinson, have recently bolstered their squad with the addition of rumoured Rams target Josh Murphy, on a two year deal, who joins Yanic Wildshit as a recent arrival. They also boast, if that's the right term, ex Ram Sam Baldock in attack, who no doubt will be keen to finally display his skills at Pride Park. I can't wait to get back inside the ground again come Saturday, and celebrate our survival and rebirth amongst the people who really matter, us fans. Come on you Rams, it's in yer DNA youth! JuanFloEvraTheCocu'sNesta Posted July 27, 2022 Posted July 27, 2022 Score draw I reckon. Oxford playing us at the right time because I think we will become less vulnerable as the season goes on and normality is resumed across all areas of the club.

Ghost of Clough Posted July 27, 2022 Posted July 27, 2022 Wildsmith Chester Davies Oduroh Bird Roberts Knight Hourihane Mendez-Laing Collins Barkhuizen Subs: Loach, Cashin, Stearman*, Smith, Tommo, Sibley, Stretton** * Forsyth in if he signs a deal in time ** McGoldrick in if he's fit enough for 20 mins. There's a small chance Smith comes in for Oduroh and Knight moves to RB, but given Smith's first pre-season game was only 4 days ago, I'll be surprised if he does start

Smith has the experience to cover for Knight if he presses forward. When fit, I would have McGoldrick in for Collins. Magicman 1

Wouldn't be surprised if we dropped Smith and put McGoldrick in as a second striker, coming deeper to collect from midfield whilst Collins plays off him.
