Srg
If staff can get made redundant why can't players? Genuine question... someone like David Marshall who may as well not be here, surely you'd save more money than sacking a cleaner. 48 hours and Kathcairns

Almost certainly due to the terms of thier contracts being early severance from the clubs side is basically pay up the full value of the rest of the contract. And clubs go along with it because everyone does. Players insist upon it because any injury or drop in form and it's the bullet for you if it's not that way. I'm waiting for Bielik, once he's had a clear medical, to be heading back to Arsenal in lieu of part payment we owe them. Probably still owe them a couple of million on top they'll defer, Then they'll ship him on for a few million. At that point, every will say why didn't we sell him for 4 million instead of letting him go back to Arsenal for a million. They've got 4 million and we still owe them 2. The answer will be, there not in admin and the best offer we got was £9.99. The joys of Mel continue. RadioactiveWaste

Employees covered by employment law , Players covered by contract law so players cannot be sacked unless the are guilty of gross misconduct or you pay up the contract RadioactiveWaste

Only difference is accrued pay due to players before termination has to be paid because it’s a football claim. But any payment due to a player for termination is just an unsecured claim (I think) so needs to paid only up to 25%. Not certain tbh the admins have said tho that they won’t sack players - presumably because the squad is so threadbare plus they want to keep Rooney on side
