I presume they have been installed so that over exuberant fans can stand on them while holding on to their mates shoulder when we score.

A definite improvement. Its very difficult to balance on the thin top edge of the plastic seats. They buckle and sway and you inevitably have to grab the person in front to stop you falling into the next row,

I'm sure he'll be thankful. If i fall off the rail, i'll miss him completely and land two rows down.

I wonder how it will work in the away end, where the majority (2.5k) of seats will have rails. Quite a few away fans who have come to Pride Park this season prefer to sit - hence the 'how s**t must you be song..!  The SS might have to come up with something different.

I'm assuming that away tickets will be sold as either standing upper tier or sitting lower tier. If you buy a standing ticket then at least you'll expect to have to stand before you go.

The big problem is that you are saying the actions of Israel are comparable to Hamas. They are not . Nowhere near. If you cannot see that then yes you must be biased beyond belief.

Would a Palestinian civilian see Israel's atrocities any different than an Israeli civilian sees Hamas' atrocities? Its a big statement to say the actions of Israel are not comparable to those of Hamas Pete. Just on scale alone many would think the opposite tbh.

    DERBY!

Every game us in the South Stand marvel at how slow the rest of you are. After our final DERBY, we kick back, relax and wait for the splendid noise from the North and East Stand. Sometimes i feel i have enough time to take up a hobby before you join in!

It makes the away fans jump as they think its finished!

I can’t quite get over that it was between Hughes and Bryson for the other CM spot at Wembley. Jeff was the definite starter!

    What a problem to have!

The way to test the goodness of fit of any statistic is to do analyse the distribution of the actual vs expected. That is, the distribution of the residual (A-E)

You'd expect that shape to be the classic bell shaped curve. But the value of the mean, or peak of the curve, should be close to 0 with a relatively narrow dispersion around the mean for it to be seen as statistically "good".

We shall discuss this in more depth in the Black Swan in Utch before next Tuesday's match over a couple of pints of Bass.

It’s the same type of pretentious bulls**t that turns a white painted rectangle on the grass into a “technical area”. An attempt to make pundits like Jamie Caragher seem intelligent (ha ha), but in reality, completely useless.

I managed to play, watch and understand football for over 50 years without xG. Just wondered if i've missed out on some wisdom that would have made me a better player or fan?

Scoff at data all you want, that's what all the top clubs operate with. You were the one to mention shots on target as an accurate barometer of chance creation, xG is a far superior metric, you just don't like the answer it gives.

The problem is mate that us older lads know that promotion from this league does not rely on stats. It relies on team spirit, hard work and a bit of luck (after the last few years that's one thing we hopefully have in the bank). Many of us wax lyrical about Bobby Davison and Phil Gee firing us to glorious promotions yet often the games were bloody hard work with just an occasional flash of brilliance....like NML's superb pass to the young lad tonight.

The Rams are going up 🐏

  9. We are in the third tier. Its horrible, very difficult to get out of at the best of times and we are the big scalp, the team everyone wants to beat. Teams raise their game and make it difficult for us so we have to battle and fight, do the hard, ugly stuff better than them. We're not there yet but we are slowly getting to grips with it. Hard fought narrow wins

Four wins on the trot,  not giving silly goals away, the way NML pushed Waggy toward the away fans to start the bounce tonight,

🎵Its beginning to look a lot like promotion.......every where we gooooooo..........🎵

Taboo with Tom Hardy in the lead role, A mate put me onto it, BBC iPlayer 8 episodes, 1814 London with the East India Company as the bad guys fighting over the rights to land on the USA/Canada border, Espionage, Torture, Sex, Corruption, Murder, Very good viewing...imo 👍

The East India Company were definitely the bad guys, They were the equivalent of Blackrock and Vanguard nowadays who own pretty much everything. The British Army were basically formed to protect their interests.

I'd wager that just about any modern English version would defeat Sir Alf's side, based upon fitness alone.

If Alf's players were subject to modern training and fitness regimes they'd be better.

Gordon Banks, Bobby Moore and Bobby Charlton were world class, the best in the world in their respective positions for most of their careers.

Man Ure take the lead against Everton via a better than Rooney-esque overhead from Garnacho - astonishing….

Came off his shin, could have gone anywhere tbh. Rooneys came off his instep so i'd say his was slightly better.

    Not a bad goal though.

I reckon Collo has one of those in him to clinch promotion.

Yeah...but I posted in the football forum whereas moisty posted in the Jim Smith room.

Do you spend your time checking in the local that nobody's talking about something in the lounge that's also being talked about in the bar...?

    😉

I'm not hard enough to go in the bar in my local.....
