Why is the away form so poor?

Away results have been poor this season and last yet the home form has in the main been good. With such a small squad I am struggling to understand why we don’t travel well. No doubt the atmosphere at home games must help but we do have a decent vocal away support. Really need to address this next season.

We don't take enough risks. We don't play with that same confidence like we do at home. And even when we look like the better side and can potentially getting something out the game, we always conspire to losing it. Blackburn springs to mind. It's just bizarre. At this point it's probably a mentality thing. But given where we are in the table, we should just go into every game playing with freedom as we have nothing to lose.

Clearly the lack of 20000 fans behind them.....

Our form during covid was poor irrespective of home or away.

There are a lot of inexperienced players and they are still learning how to deal with the differences, refs naturally favouring home teams, the change of the dynamics in other grounds with 80-90% of the crowd berating them.

?Basically because we do t have any natural finishers and consequently dont convert many if the few chances we do create. Also we fanny about too much at the back in away games with players who arnt good enough to do it. Also we are rubbish at marking at set pieces in awsy games. Also we play too deep in away games and quite often we are too negative and select the wrong players for certain matches. We need some bigger stronger players too ?

We could have done without a two year transfer embargo, a 21 point deduction, EFL's decisions to stop our SKY TV and Covid money and the threat of that curly haired little t..t from Middlesbrough trying to liquidate us.....

Even with the worst punishments in English football history we are only a Bobby Davison away from survival.

Lack of fire power does not help if we had one or two more scoring people midfield would help chip in with goals.

Your right and I said the same at the start of the season.  Unless Sibleys playing like a donkey in training, we could have utilised him more as an option.  He has 10-12 goals in him from midfield but seemingly doesn't fit .  He'll probably be gone in the summer and next year they'll have people on Quest talking about why he wasn't utilised more as he gets 10 in 15 for somebody.

Probably my only frustration with the line ups and substitute selections, fair enough if he's not done enough for a start because he doesn't deliver what's asked of him, but he is a goal threat, why he isn't given 15-20 at the end of a game like Saturday I don't know.

Even in the u23's the other day it was commented that he was poor, but again scored, you can't deny he knows where the goal is and how many times have we lost by a single goal this season? I really think he could make a difference at the end of games when we need a goal.

This is slightly misleading as you're attributing the root cause of our ills to not having a natural finisher...you need to step back one and look at the number of chances we are creating (which you rightly highlight in your post) as being the root cause....not having a clinical finisher merely exacerbates this.

Agree with the faffing around at the back which merely serves to put games beyond our reach at a very early stage when we get caught out and concede from this nonsense.

You missed out the EFL tapping up the refs to not give us any stone wall penalties
