  1. I think it does show that no matter how far the women's football has progressed in recent years, it is, for the large part, with a different demographic from the existing fanbases at clubs and football fans in general IMO. I am interested in the England team in a tournament but cba with the qualifiers even, never seen a minute, never watched any domestic women's football on the TV which has a lot of coverage now, I just can't get excited about it tbh, just as I can't about any games at any level on Sky or TNT that have no significant bearing/outcome on them. I did see a bit of the 2nd half of the Liverpool game yesterday, but only because of family connections and them probably blowing their chance for the title once I saw the HT score and I'd finished up gardening for the day. The only score I look out for from the Derby Women's team is when they play Forest.
  2. Dodgy boxes pick up Rams TV international or ifollow broadcasts, if there aren't any there's nothing to pick up other than the games Sky are covering
  3. Not saying I'd start with him, but I wouldn't start with Washington either.... I made comments back when we resigned TJJ that I think Brown should have been given more opportunities in the 1st half of the season and I'd rather have then had him as that option, I do agree that he needed more mens football to find his feet and using the loan system seems to be working for him, but, all that said, I think he would offer more than what we are seeing from Washington. He is at least as quick, has more physical presence, more stamina and the 2 goals he set up in the semi final shows he has an awareness to pick a good option when he cant score himself. Really looking forwards to him being in the squad hopefully next season, but recognise he may end up on loan until Jan to a league 1 or good league 2 team with us being in the Championship 😉
  4. So, it's easy to make selective stats suit an argument, as others have pointed out in previous posts, but also, 9 games in and lost only 1, the same as Sheff Utd and Burnley who both got promoted at the end of the season, only 4 points above relegation - but had a game in hand, and the fact there were 13 other teams between them and the bottom 3 should be ignored? Reality is, Warne leaving Rotherham probably instigated a loss of form, and if it is OK to speculate Rosenior would have done equally as well as Warne at Derby then it's also reasonable to speculate that Warne would have had a decent season woth Rotherham if he'd not left for us.
  5. Rather have him in the squad than Washington tbh. I know he's still developing but think he'd be a better option
  6. Hopefully everyone has got their meltdowns out the way now and at 5 o'clock tomorrow all will be rosey again. We tend to perform well after a disappointing performance this season, so I think we'll have the 3 points in a more comfortable win than people expect. Meanwhile, Bolton and Portsmouth draw to put us back in the driving seat as Peterborough have a tough game everyone seems to be ignoring as I expect Oxford to beat them. Failing that, bet big on the National and ignore the footie!
  7. NML hasn't scored since Exeter away, 12 games, or assisted since Bristol Rovers away, 6 games. Looks like he's ran out of steam, the same as last season, but with CBT not getting going there's little alternative tbh. Clearly CBT is a confidence player, and following that miss he was a waste of a shirt, along with Washington and Collins, which surprised me re Collins, very quiet, but have no time for Washington, he's been poor all season.
  8. Still had time ro take a touch and then sidefoot it in, no excuses, shocking miss that set the tone for the evening
  9. Not tactics that didn't get bodies in the box, just very poor from our front 4, knackered, not fit or just not good enough, take your pick, but all that said, 3 if the 4 should all have scored in the 1st half.... so tactics can't have been that bad. Re the c*** up at the end, totally Cashins fault, what was he doing faffing at the touchline with seconds to go anyway? And you say he was good enough? It was a 5 out of 10 from him last night
  10. Wycombe 1 - 3 The Rams Frgs Adams
  11. Most likely to be this for the phone in, feels this is a radio Derby announcement not a club announcement. My guess is Clowes, and he may announce investment options maybe, but RD wouldn't do that today.
  12. Ok, Read up on the kangaroo thing a bit, they are harvested rather than farmed, from the 50 million population and say that research has shown it hasn't adversely affected the population, only certain abundant breeds are allowed to be used, and are a by product of the meat industry, claiming this is a more sustainable means than other industries. But, the animal rights concerns are over mothers being killed and leaving Joeys to die, which is obviously unacceptable. So, if this is happening then more controls need to be established but not necessarily stopping it all together. After all, most of the big businesses use sweatshop labour to manufacture the kits in any case, throughout all walks of life there will be unethical practices the vast majority choose to ignore. Finally, as a side note, players choose their own boots and they aren't part of a kit deal so surely, if concerned, that's where the focus should be......
  13. Is there any difference between using Kangaroo skin or Cow skin if they have been bred for farming, the meat is in the food chain, are you advocating it be wasted? Surely utilising as much as possible from farmed animals is better than wasting it. I genuinely didn't know they used that product and what the issue is with it, I am making the assumption that they are farmed in my ignorance by the way. Realistically, for sports, we aren't going to change to plant based footwear are we, (again I haven't done any research on viable alternatives) and plastic based is a bigger no no.
  14. Just my observation on some Sibley bashing I've seen, and especially wrt the goal..... Kamara is the form winger in the division at the minute and overall I think it was a fairly even battle between them, not bad for a full time left back, but a makeshift one, come on, give him some credit! I'd argue that for the goal he'd held his line and anticipated Kamara running behind into an offside position...... if Cashin hadn't have been quite so tight Bishop may not have flicked the ball past him, or he could have intercepted it, if Nelson wasn't too deep Kamara would definitely have been offside instead of one of those VAR questionable ones, why was Nelson so deep I hear no one asking as it's easier to Sibley bash for 'losing his man', which I think is a tad unfair..... Just my opinion.
  15. A wet pitch and players slipping is potentially the WORST conditions to try a high intensity press as easy to sidestep someone racing in to close you down.... look at the 1st goal we conceded, Nelson needed to hold position instead of getting too close to be easily passed, but it's hard in those conditions
  16. I think Ward could be deeper alongside Adams and Smith and NML wider than how you have it, so Sibley isn't exposed so much with Adams or Smith told to help out, and NML is better out wide.
  17. Reading just seemed to give up once the 3rd goal went in, Bolton should have conceded a 6th at the end also, could be a massive miss as that 1 goal could have a bearing on final positions..... I think we could scrape a win tomorrow though, taking the wind out of their sails!
  18. Conspiracy theory at it's best...... I believe he should have been given opportunities in the cup games as @Ghost of Cloughstated, but to suggest it was 'engineered' for him to fail..... really?
  19. Is that because you Are the 1 holding a pot glass in your hand at the bar next to @Gee SCREAMER !!......
  20. Agree re Ward and his crosses, if Gayle or Collins were on the pitch, with Waghorn it would need to be 3 great crosses minimum as he's likely to balloon them over the bar....
  21. Just been discussing the merits of renewing or picking games as and when going forwards, nothing to do with the style of football or what division we are in, it's purely the commitment cost versus time and the impact on doing other things, days out, holidays etc etc. When the wife pointed out that at the end of the early renewal period, 26th April 4pm, it is also the end of guaranteeing your current seat.... I hadn't realised that and don't remember it being this way in the past. Not that it has an effect on our decision as it will be renewal at the discount or not at all for us, 4 weeks to decide.....
