He’s showing his class in midfield, but is not yet at his best and Bird can do most of what he is doing. And we need another plan or we’ll end this season as we did last. One option is as you say to play him more advanced with Lawrence (and Morrison?) and have Bird Tommo and Knight play behind them. Another option is to play to our defensive strengths, put him at CB with Bird ahead in a creative role. The plan there would be clean sheets and nicking one. Point is, if we improve at set pieces and if we have Morrison and Lawrence advanced, there’s a fair chance we’ll bag one.
