I’d still be interested to know who his backers are before passing judgement on whether it’s a good deal for our long term future, but I certainly trust Appleby’s character enough to believe he’s not bullshitting like Kirchner was. As he appears to have taken over funding for the club, you have to assume he’s now preferred bidder. Hopefully he can get the deal over the line ASAP, ideally before the end of the month, so we can get out of contract players tied down before they go elsewhere.
