Great news we finally get a PB.  But why is it I still get wound up by the pathetic comms from the EFL.....

"...the EFL has been focused on ensuring that there is a long-term future for the Club."   Really? Love to see how.

"Now that the League has been advised of the preferred bidder status by the Administrators, we await details of the formal proposals and once in receipt, these will be reviewed in line with EFL requirements..."  Why do you have to say "now"? You're like a spoilt child.  Keep it factual.  "Following notification by the admins of the PB.....".  And how long will your review take?  Long enough to see us down with further points deductions and player losses?

"This process will allow us to understand what hurdles may still need to be overcome before matters can move forward......" Sorry?  After nearly 2 years you still don't understand the hurdles? Maybe read this thread - you'll possibly learn a thing or two.

The EFL are a complete joke .

I will never change my opinion on them .

See, I read their third Tweet as...

"This process will allow us to understand what hurdles may still need to be PUT IN PLACE before matters can move forward......"

Talksport just said Ashley has just said he’s still interested.

Make if that what you want .

Talksport thought that was good news for Derby

I think at this point it's safer just to assume Ashley's "interest" is roughly equivalent to my interest in  learning to speak Mandarin.

It technically exists, but nothing is ever going to come of it.

But has he got the financial muscle to take us further? Unless he’s got backers, it would seem he hasn’t.

Let's be clear, you have no idea about the position of his finances and therefore should probably not speculate.

Not worried about the names of the food in the concourse. Think beggars can't be choosers comes to mind.

The concourse outlets and catering was all outsourced to the company that does Wembley concourses. Delaware North. GSE wouldn't have had much say other than take whatever slice of profits they were contracted to as the club. From their own website, they've had it from 2008, which coincides with the GSE takeover. https://www.delawarenorth.com/venues/pride-park-stadium

On the Kirchner news, with him now being confirmed as the preferred bidder - can Radio Derby et al now get an actual interview with him to play out on air? Even if it isn't live or interactive, just to hear direct from Kirchner's mouth and not via "I spoke to him/advisors over Twitter" or likewise. You've been confirmed, now speak to us directly on the radio, answer some questions about the process from now and the future plans. That'll go a long way to getting everyone on side.

Any mention of the £5m deposit upon being named preferred bidder?

Seems entirely absent.

I can imagine Q quietly dropped that stipulation as it was intended to fund the club through the season and the administrators got sufficient funding.

I can imagine a £5m deposit is a hefty chunk just for exclusivity with the EFL still to go "ah ha, we've decided this new stipulation has arrived"

There's such a weird "why do you make me hurt you, I only do it because I love you so much" tone to their tweets.

They seem obsessed with putting up further financial conditions and obstacles. That doesn't make any sense. It makes sense to punish Mel (which they can't), and it makes sense to give us a points deduction if we breach whatever the relevant financial rules might be.

But it doesn't really make sense to impose strict conditions on the new owners. They are new owners: why do they get tarred with the brush meant for Mel?

I think the point is I would and most fans would gladly chomp down a Kentucky Jumbo Corn Dog or Supersize New York whopper Burger at half time if it means we have DCFC to support.

Yeh we should hear from Kirchener soon and fingers crossed a deal gets done!

Whole thing smells of desperation to me. Administrators said no to him originally due to better offers, now they’ve gone crawling back to Kirchner begging him to bail them out?  Be interesting to know what kind of deal he has achieved.

I can’t get excited about Americans involved in football over here either. Remember last time we had yanks at the helm and they tried changing all the food items at the stadium, ‘long Albuquerque Chicago Rams mega XL hotdog’. Was so cringe how everything was Americanised. I can see it happening again.

The administrators have demonstrated their absolute ineptness as well. I remember that useless Hoskins going on Talksport last September with his pal Simon Jordan, both waxing lyrical about one another and Hoskins somewhat proclaiming everything will be sorted by Christmas. Why make statements like that when you haven’t even looked at the issues to begin with? The deeper they’ve delved they’ve been out of their depth.

oh well, hopefully it’s over now. Fight and win….

The concourse could do with a shake-up to be honest.

Awful selection of food and drinks, and the queues are always terrible.

They're paranoid that Gibson starts threatening to sue the EFL again, if we're seen to welch on debts that he's had to pay 'Boro's equivalent of.

Well it makes sense not to burn any bridges with anyone that you may potentially need to step in, so if MA is still monitoring the situation and is openly interested then as a backup plan that has to be a positive thing right ?
