That was a very satisfying performance, especially as we had two players who could play up front and we played them bothe up there! That is a first!

As someone has said, there were no passengers today, with everyone putting  shift in. Stand out for me was Max Bird, who gets better with every match. I was also very impressed with Luke Plange, not only for his goal, but his all round play was excellent, including his defensive work, as it looked like it was a natural part of his game, rather than something he had been told to do.

The only downsides were Fozzy, who although he did some good stuff, he also "liabilitied" too many times today, but thankfully got away with it. And Jagielka, who has brought a stability to the defence we had been lacking. his positioning and reading of the game is great, but far too many times when he gets the ball he simply has to kick it, or head it "somewhere", especially when he has the time to fetch ball down and start a move. instead the ball just loops to the opposition. It was good to see Joswiack having a good match, and his excursion into the area, although ill advised, only became a problem because he was fouled as he was about to turn away from the striker. The shirt pull twisted Kamil's body nearly 90 degrees. As ever, the ref did nothing. I had wondered what the EFL penalty is for fielding 12 players, because it looked like Blackpool had done it today. But the reality was that it seemed pretty much as though this was the first football match the ref had ever been to, because he gave a load of really dodgy decisions in our favour, although he was ridiculously trigger happy with his cards for Joswiack and Lawrence. OH well, it is what it is, and me shouting loudly at the officials actually changes nothing! They still deserve it though!

Today was encouraging because we were able to up the pace in the second half, and we played some really good football at times. There was nothing thrilling or scintillating, but the right score at the end of the 90+

The lawrence card was thoroughly deserved. Ref wasn’t great though.

Given all the readjustments in the last 24/48 hours it was an outstanding three points, and full marks to Wayne and the coaching team for switching the formation and getting everyone ready.  A real victory for hard work and commitment.

Pretty boring game til we scored, then we looked decent. Never looked like conceding. Blackpool were pretty poor, but shout out to their supporters who travelled in numbers and know what we're going through.

Like the look of Plange, very good movement.

Plange looks like he’s got a a bit of everything; quickish, worked hard, decent on the ball, energetic and given that we gave him nothing to work with in terms of service he did the most important thing, had a chance and tucked it away.

Sound team performance always looked like a single goal would settle it. Special mention though to Joswiak who looked like he belonged and Alsop who is much better with the ball at his feat. Also another good crowd and atmosphere great support astonishing given the apparent hopelessness of our situation. Credit too to the Blackpool fans for there support ?

Pair Plange with Stretton if he can stay fit and we could have a potent strike duo in the comng years......issue maybe that the better Plange does the more others will get interested and he is only contracted till the end of the season.

Oh no. I didn't realise that. Get him signed up quick.

Lawrence booked a stupid challenge, went through the man.

And judging by your earlier posts .. if he pulled out you’d have said he was a wus.

Lawrence played well, instigated the goal, grafted. Made mistakes but so did others. Why the agenda ? He’s a Ram, how about being a supporter instead

Really good play for the goal by Lawrence. A well worked goal all round.

Just back, Deserved win against a surprisingly poor Blackpool side. Looked like it might be a good game for the first 20 mins, but became scrappy with all the stoppages.  A big shout out to the Blackpool fans who turned up in good numbers and were class in their support of our plight. Loved the banner!

C'mon show everyone the banner!..........Photos please!

If Forsyth had out the quality of crosses in that Williams did today, we’d be slating him. He’s very young so of course he’s forgiven but must do better.

On the bright side, at least they didn’t go out of play like Buchanans would have done.

Forsyth has played 20% more football than Buchanan so far this season, yet has only sucessfully found a man with a cross on one more occasion.

Enjoyed that. We simply had to win to keep hopes alive.

First 5/10 mins we looked lively and incisive but the it got a bit scrappy. Blackpool well organised, not great shakes, their league position seems flattering,  but they had some real pace in wide areas and looked dangerous on occasions. We looked exposed on the left hand side more than anywhere else. There is more skill in our team and we created more opportunities.

I think the whole team worked hard. Joz was much happier receiving the ball earlier and made some great runs with and off the ball. Knight is remarkable. Everywhere ! Bird, brave and sharp. Shinnie is mr consistent. Lawrence working for the team and not shy of a challenge, some lovely work with Joz for the goal finished with alacrity by Luke Plange. Proper poachers goal, sharp reactions, he worked hard all day leading the line and making CB’s earn their wages. Dylan is young .. doesn’t give it away cheaply but I wish he was a bit more confident and would have a go at beating his man a bit more often. Curtis and Jags .. clean sheet .. nuff said. Fozzy’s height is welcome and he can stop a cross but he’s struggling when facing pace, as did C and J. Allsop didn’t have much to do but I feel loads better with him in the side because he catches the flipping ball !

I half expected a nervous last 10 mins but the Seasiders didn’t really have much to throw at us. Candy floss and flashing lights didn’t cut it today.

Not a thrilling game but job done and considering the disruption to the squad, a fine effort all round.

Don’t let that get in the way of a post criticising not one, but two of our young players, one of whom did not even play and the other of whom was making his 2nd ever start.
