Alan Nixon Breaks Silence on American Billionaire Bid

Kirchner will likely have the least liquid funds, least footballing links and least knowledge of the current bidders from the information we have so far.

It's likely he realises this and wants to hammer a deal through before the other parties step up their interest (if at all). If you get the likes of Appleby/Rush/Moxey etc getting serious their links to existing footballing infrastructure will be more valuable than any money can add.

Doesn’t money buy you all this and more beside?

So Maguire says:

“It looks as if Mel Morris himself is owed £124 million.

“Whether he’s going to insist on 25 percent of that, we’re uncertain.“

Uncertain?  Morris has said he’ll waive the lot. The administrators have said they are confident of a sale (as Maguire points out, there would be no sale if MM does not waive his debt).

Maguire is a publicity grabbing public nuisance

Appleby/rush/moxey blandly led the club before.

They were able to show a total lack of ambition for the club.

There footballing links did not work out fantastically before, Derby were not known as the invincibles (reference one of Arsenal's former great teams) under their tenure.

I don't know the exact status of Mel's Share Account in which that "debt" sits, but I have a feeling it's debt that only "falls due" when the party it's owed to says so. If it was ordinary debt, DCFC would have been effectively trading illegally for years. So I'm not sure that, if "called in" it would even fall under the "unsecured creditors" category. Anyone buying the club would only offer a nominal p/£ for it because the primary and secondary debt is so substantial. In a nutshell, I don't think the EFL would require that debt to be redeemed at the same rate as unsecured creditors.

They hired McClaren, almost got promoted, didn't nearly go bust.

Do you think we need a complete break from people who have been connected to the club before.

Didn’t get promoted. Didn’t make a profit. Sold the club. Only difference between them and Morris who also hired McClaren is he didn’t sell the club. Was trying to sell it but bad timing doing that in 2019/20..

Agree with you there, we need fresh blood in the club.

"We're uncertain"? Who is we? Who is Maguire speaking for? Then he says "You don't pay £56 million for  a league One club". Again who is "you"? Isn't Maguire just  a bit up his own bum?
