Publishing photos without permission? Dunno tbh. But I imagine to scare the poo out of the stupid girls?

No offence in that I'm afraid.

That won't be going anywhere I wouldn't of thought.

As I understand it,the police aren't taking it any further, presumably for the above reasons (well according to another news report anyway!)

Maybe an assumption there, perhaps they were very clever girls looking at a nice payday ?

If they had threatened to blackmail him there would have been serious consequences including arrests.

As that hasn't happened,it looks more likely the girls weren't into that, just some stupid antics by putting stuff on Twitter for amusement.

sounds like an entire room full of dimwits to be honest.

Maybe they set him up because they have aspirations of being models/getting on Love Island ? and any kind of publicity for them is better than no publicity.

Should he have been more alert to such nonsense ? Bloody right he should have, he’ll have had advice about hangers on/opportunists from an early age from the PFA.

P S Wayne, flowers from the garage might not cut it with Coleen. ?

This is likely more media hacks having fun at Rooney / Derby's expense; we're such soft targets. Remember the Covid-positive clown that visited Rooney allegedly with a presentation watch to show him, which put Rooney into isolation last season?

Rooney could do with behaving with more decorum as a public figure and also be mindful of the disruption, disgrace and cost that Derby players contrived not long ago, in their stupid drunken-driving incident.

I want Rooney to succeed, but I can’t help thinking if he has aspirations to be a top manager, why doesn’t he notice that Pep, Mourinho, Klopp, Tuchal etc don’t seem to repeatedly get themselves caught up in this type of nonsense on nights out?

The problem is that I think Wayne Rooney doesn’t understand that he is Wayne Rooney.

100% as a player.

As a manager he doesn't have to run around for a living. Although it's probably slightly more embarrassing when he's caught out doing what he looked like he was on the verge of doing.

Personally I think it is worse as a manager. Being a manager comes with far greater responsibility, he sets the standard through the club. Have our expectations dropped so much that we are ok with our manager getting pissed in a nightclub and allowing himself to be in this situation? Especially given our current situation. We need leadership and responsibility. When you step up to the big role you have to act the part. This isn't that.

Quick google for an answer…..

Yes in rare cases such revenge porn, etc.

But in this case there’s absolutely nothing. Even if they tried to extort/blackmail him the crime would be the act of extortion/blackmail NOT publishing pictures.

His only chance for any redress would be civil action and a defamation/ privacy claim. Not sure he’d win it even then!

If he's commercially sold his image rights, maybe there's a copyright issue? Wouldn't be criminal, so the police wouldn't get involved I guess.

Interesting angle and definitely a civil case, if there is one.

Not sure his image rights would extend to this but I’m not familiar with them.
