And we are still only 2 points above 7th..whose fault is that?

Curly Watts

But look at the top 7 teams, there's a gap opening up, 8th and 9th placed teams have played 2 more games than Barnsley. It's currently looking like a 7 horse race for 3 teams to grab promotion.

This should cover the 3 promotion places

final league table
1. Derby County

2. Derby

3 The Rams

I've just checked the history books, again, and this is the first time ever that the pre-season favourites struggled early on, started to scrape some results without playing particularly well, then began to look like a good team once they gained some confidence and momentum.

It's a funny old game football. The same things keep happening over and over, but everyone forgets it.

Boxing Day table last year at the top of the pic, Boxing Day table today at the bottom. More wins, more points, more goals. Still a long way to go but we’re doing comparatively better results wise than we were at the same time last season. Could do with more consistent performances like today’s and seemingly we’re not missing McGoldrick’s goals with more goals scored and being shared amongst the squad. Be interesting to see if we can keep it going, and strengthen (or at least avoid being weakened) in January.

League really was a 3 horse race last season. So different this year.

Hey I was only playing, fair play to Warne and the players, they are doing the business.

If we can beat Oxford then the game against Peterborough is bloody huge!!

It would make Warnes negotiating position a little easier when convincing potential signings to join.

If you want to complain about style of football, possession stats, xG, humour or bobble hats, go for it, however in the results business, our form since the Stevenage game is stupendous.

Played 8

Won 7

Drawn 1

Lost 0

Scored 18

Conceded 3

Very good in the last 10…

Warne got back into credit with me 2 or 3 games ago after wanting him gone a few games prior to the Stevenage game.

the quality of the performances on the whole still isn’t what I like, but the first hour today was more like it.  I’m surprised that he waited until the 87th minute to bring on sonny bradley to (not) sure things up at the back.
