Warne sets the game plan. It's like they had collectively forgotten what worked against Northampton.

How many aimless crosses got headed away without a Derby shirt anywhere near it? The two goals we actually scored were when the ball was on the deck and moved at pace.

The players play the way they are told.

Imagine having Washington and Bird in the middle of the box and thinking the best way to score is by putting high crosses in

If that penny hasn't dropped for you yet then I suggest you try a different 2p machine.

The toy was right on the edge of dropping though 😂

I try not to join in with the hysteria of the fan base and be critical in a constructive way. The tactics today showed me that he is severely lacking the nous to Coach a squad of players at a fairly big club with a fair amount of pressure.

Today more than any other game was our inability to finish. Some of the attempts were pathetic.

This falls on PW as he failed to get a replacement striker in. That was the same front six, with Washington replacing Didzy - so not one single person can argue we strengthened.

Thats on PW as he didn’t have the ability or pull to get anyone in.

Or the finances?

Why does it all fall on Warne

The fault of results and performances on the pitch is entirely limited to the staff and players. That's the problem, not a post from a disgruntled fan on a message board.

But extrapolating the feelings of the message, do you think the team have a better chance of success if the crowd spend the entire match cheering, supporting and encouraging? Or if they spend the whole time hoping we lose?

I’ve been out all day so missed the game. What did he do?

Got caught out in a tussle for the second having lost his s*** over someone brushing his face with a finger in the first half and seemed to lose his game entirely.  Bit embarrassing really.  That being said, he was prime Maldini compared to Forsyth who completed a day of total ineptitude by allowing a ball travelling at the pace of a snail to go under his foot on the touchline.  Smith was also dreadful and 5 seconds behind play.  He's been living off that good half against Blackpool for a while.

All the credit has to go to Crewe.

For 88 minutes, they got their game plan spot on and took advantage of our poor defending. They would have been worthy winners and all while missing some important players.

A goalkeeping mistake gifted us a way back into the game and the equaliser got us completely out of jail. The jeopardy, the drama - it’s why we love the FA Cup.

Were we poor? No. Were we frustrating and disappointing? Absolutely. We had more possession, more shots, more time spent in their half, but how many quality chances did we create? A handful at best?

Crewe were pretty comfortable it seemed, until we showed some desperation and urgency in the last 15 minutes. It had an air of the players playing for Warne’s job.

A huge reprieve for Warne there…

There were definitely players he could have bought, I’ve been told he turned down the chance to sign Alfie May because he wasn’t up to his “character” standards. He’s scored 11 goals for Charlton already.

Wow, what kind of a bad boy is May?

The crowd have more chance of spending the entire match cheering, supporting an encouraging if they are being shown something worth cheering.

We need more Northamptons and fewer Stevenages, then the crowd will wake up.

Asking people to be relentlessly positive in the face of underachievement is simply not realistic.
