Has Nelson ever played fullback?

Ah. I know what happens here. Warne plays the incorrect formation at home twice in a row. A formation that would happen to work perfectly fine away. But, of course, rather than recognising that his formation would work much better away and persisting instead he changes it and puts out the wrong formation away.

I expect warne to play 5-2-3 and go all out attack leaving us exposed to breakaway goals and therefore we will concede at least once and score a maximum of one.

fwiw, I think the mistaken formation will be:

wildsmith

Centre backs: cashin + fozzy + one of the new centre backs

Wing backs: Ward + one of the other new guys

CDMs: Bird + Hourihane

up front: Mendez Laing + Collins + Waghorn.

Thompson must start in midfield, we need his running/passing ability since that is so rare in our squad.

Other than that no one has really stood out except from maybe Ward and also, to some extent, Bird 2nd half against Blackpool.

For attackers I actually think Waghorn should be first choice which I didn't think I would write. He is the only one who's done anything looking a bit dangerous in the final third.

Hopefully Warne picks these and from the rest anyone who seem to be up for a fight. COYR! Very important test for us on Saturday.

I feel like Warne has to start with the Nelson and Bradley again, just to build up minutes and cohesion. They’re not going to improve without game time, and gives Sonny the opportunity to make amends for past 2 games.

Ward has already cemented RWB, while Fozzy at LWB may be better than Elder until he’s fitter. Waggy and NML either side of Collins, then 2 in midfield.

Despite being the favourites in our previous visits, we've never won at the Pirelli. They may well be favourites this time. Will we see that elusive first win tomorrow? I most certainly hope so.

We are still strong favourites,

Burton 10/3

Derby 10/11

Draw 14/5
