roboto
People are going to work as normal today. Kids are in schools as normal. Why should sports events be cancelled this weekend? I understand halting some stuff yesterday when the news dropped, but UEFA matches still went ahead without issue. Horse racing postponed today along with the test match. Also the last 3 stages of the Tour of Britain have been cancelled. A lot of money down the drain the event organisers and those working within the sports that have been cancelled, and the change of plans to the fans and spectators who won't be able to change bookings at the drop of a hat. angieram
We have been here since Wednesday so it's a bit late to cancel anything now! I don't mind football being postponed if theatre, concerts, cinemas etc are postponed too. But apparently they will continue. Where is the consistency? People will have booked trains and hotels, to cancel a match at less than 48 hours notice during the cost of living crisis is ridiculous. What’s wrong with a minute silence and black armbands. If people want to mourn then don’t go but don’t force it on everyone Plus all the local businesses that rely on the business that football crowds bring them. This cancellation might mean they can't pay wages. All the temporary staff who work as stewards, caterers etc, will they not get paid now? If we cancel one game, why not a month of games? Why not all season?
WystonRam
I think the best way to show appreciation of the Queen is to play the games and allow tributes etc… Tamworthram, MACKWORTHRAM and Foreveram 1

REDCAR
Surely better to wear black arm bands as a mark of respect tomorrow with minutes silence etc - next weekend would be too late. The EFL will find a way of docking us points no matter what... so GAME ON for me.

nottingram
I wouldn’t mind it being cancelled if I truly believed it was out of respect and not out of fear of being seen as disrespectful. norwichram, Foreveram and Grimbeard 1

VulcanRam
I'm not surprised by the decision taken by the EFL and the PL. Don't agree with it, but can understand it. Edited September 9, 2022 by VulcanRam jono
